Fourth episode was good! Completely insane, as always for a Darin Morgan episode, but I love how he turns Mulder into a total comedy goof and Duchovny actually seems to be having a good time playing that version of the character.

Two episodes tonight so I only watched the first (recorded second) it was pretty good and we finally got to see William.

Skinner centric episode was decent too. After the terrible opener this season's turned out okay.

So I finished the season. The last couple of standalone episodes were decent. Nothing special but solid oldschool X-Files.
Sadly the finale was utter shite. Just like the opener. And every other episode written by Chris Carter in the last two seasons.
They fucking did the "Scully is pregnant!" thing AGAIN! Leaving aside her age and the fact that she's sterile, why are we supposed to be satisfied with this ending? William is dead (except he isn't...and neither is Skinner or the CSM...Monica probably is because no one cares about her) but Scully gets to be a mother again so it's fine! Being a mother solves everything! No wonder Gillian Anderson isn't dong any more episodes. The scene with Mulder going through that building slaughtering people was laughable too.
So it's a shame, really, that the opener and finale were so bad, because everythig in between was at least good and a couple of episodes were actually great.

Is this real life?
Sounds like a total car crash, but it should be a pretty straightforward show to write properly. If it were me I’d leave out all the story arc stuff and stick to standalone episodes dealing with the urban myths and whatnot that have cropped up since the original show ended. No pregnancies.
