The X-Files to return

What the fuck was episode 5. I mean Mulder's speech at the end about how if we all spoke the same lanuage was nice (and something about a mother's love thrown in there) but...why was he line-dancing. Why would anyone think doing magic mushrooms next to a terrorist would let you talk to him? And it worked! Because...God? Or something. Why was everyone acting like the terrorist was some poor innocent boy who would help them when he'd just blow himself up to kill people? Or did he? His mum said he didn't and she knew because A MOTHER'S LOVE? Just seemed like Chris Carter having loads of ideas and just throwing them in there and epecting them to make sense.

I felt the explosion was way too graphic, considering the light humoured nature of the rest of the show.

Yeah, the people wandering around on fire was a bit much, I never thought the day would come when I would think a tv show was too violent.

Also, lone gunmen wasted, they went by that fast I missed one of them, missed cowboy Skinner too.

What were those marks on Mulder's chest at the end?

Two of the Lone Gunmen looked really different (older) so I didn't recognise them until I saw Langley (the long haired one.) Didn't see Skinner at all or marks on Mulder's chest.

Granted, but i doubt they intended for a second that it would be the end.

I liked it. The fact that the spacecraft were seen by so many witnesses because the evil powers that be fully expect them all to be dead in a few hours was really chilling. In general, the reveal of all the alien tech and stuff has been quite jarring, but I like that they've stepped things up a gear. They could've easily just written it the same as usual, with subtle hints at the conspiracies and the alien involvement and viewers might've been happy. This gamechangey stuff is a lot more interesting.

I thought the finale felt really low budget. I guess it was like that all season but it was more noticable here because they were trying to tell a big story. Like supposedly THE WHOLE WORLD is dying as everyone's immune system is turned off, but the only person reporting it is Jeff Winger on Mulder's magic laptop that starts playing Jeff Winger whenever anyone looks at it. One guy smashes one window and Scully says "hey, stop looting!" and he just stands frozen like a statue. I didn't think the spaceship was sent by the evil powers. I thougt it was Mulder and Scully's kid flying it (somehow) since Scully had just said they need him to save Mulder. But who knows, really!

Pretty sure we saw the CSM literally blown up in the original series finale so him just needing some new skin doesn't make sense but he's the guy everyone remembers as the villain so they had to have him in the revival. What actually happened to the people/aliens who blew him up anyway?

Old Smokey probably got Wolverine style powers from the aliens, but they cant do noses, because aliens dont have noses.

The thing that was most jarring for me about the last episode (apart from moley, moley, moley) is for a show about Mulder and Scully, they had almost no scenes together, and it felt more like the show was gearing up to star Robbie Arnell and Moley Cyrus.

If she's supposed to be a regular character now, I wish they'd picked a better name than "Einstein." It sounds sarcastic every time someone calls her "Agent Einstein."

(Sorry.)

On a related note, when they finally do avengers infinity wars, and every marvel hero is there all at once, when Iron Man and Dr Strange are together, which one of them will say "no shit sherlock"

The first episode of the new season was on tv here tonight.

It was so fucking bad.

They revealed (I think?) that all of last season's finale was a vision Scully had. Because they didn't have a way to get out of the cliffhanger.

Smoking Man still has no reason to want to wipe out the human race other than that he's EVIL.

Mulder sounded so bored during his terrible voiceover and I don't blame him.

Oh, I didn’t know it was a new season. I thought it was terrrestrial tv catching up with the internet. I’ll tune in even if it’s bad.

This week's was better, though it was pretty cheap how they never showed the virtual world Langley is living in. And didn't the ending just make the rest of the episode pointless?
