Biden levels sanctions on Russia for beginning an invasion of Ukraine: live updates

President Joe Biden Tuesday said Russia's actions in Ukraine will trigger massive sanctions, a response he has been threatening for weeks as President Via diner Putin built up troops on Ukraine's borders. In a speech from the White House, Biden said the Russian leader has committed "a flagrant violation of international law. "Putin on Tuesday received authorization from lawmakers to use Russian troops outside of the country, a move he said was necessary to formalize the military's deployment in two rebel regions of eastern Ukraine. Russia reconized those provinces as independent on Monday and Putin ordered troops there to "maintain peace." Biden described this as the start of an invasion.

This has nothing to do with trump. It has everything to do with europe though. You see the sattelite pics of this buildup? They've completely surrounded them on three sides, and poor Poland will be collateral damage. I pity Ukraine if Putie Tang pulls the trigger. Lots of icy dead bodies in that countries future.
And then...

Yep. Called it. MSNBCPUSA mouthpiece, too. Figures.

What even was the last "good war"? World War 2? That was the last one in which we had a clear, well defined objective: Contain and defeat the Axis powers. Then the war's over. Of course, we still ended up tangled in Europe and Asia, with bases and so forth. But the war had an exit point.

Why is it so important to have an "exit point" when the war hasn't even started yet?

Because it isn't a fucking football game. Militaries exist for one purpose: To kill people and break their shit.

The left has forgotten this by stuffing the military full of sissies. The right has forgotten this by treating war like it's some kind of fucking sport.

In wars, people die. More often than not, people die who didn't even want any part of any fighting at all. Shit gets destroyed.

It isn't noble, it isn't glorious, it's a fucking tragedy. Every time.

Having to do it is a miserable failure of civilization. Being tricked into doing it by human vermin is even worse. Knowing what the objective is, knowing where we can stop killing people and breaking their shit, is the difference between sane human beings and bloodthirsty psychopaths.

That's why it's important.

Tell us some shit that we don't know genius. War! good God y'all...What is it good for?

Militaries are here to protect and for us to make a couple of dollars. After 6 years or more of service, you can get a college degree, get government housing and much much more. If you happen to lose a leg or arm while serving in the military, you can get paid-in-full. If you (Daniel) would have joined the military, you wouldn't be broker than a joke. Welfare is not the way to go these days.

Here Are the Toughest Sanctions That the U.S. Could Impose on Russia over Ukraine

President Joe Biden on Tuesday rolled out the first of what the U.S. says could be an ever-fiercer, ever-broader cascade of financial sanctions and penalties over Russia’s moves against Ukraine.Tuesday’s first installment of sanctions hit members of Putin’s inner circle and their families and two banks that the U.S. considers especially crucial to the Kremlin and Russia’s military. Another new U.S. measure limits Russia’s power to raise money abroad.

You're a complete fucking moron. Do yourself a favor and avoid this thread since you have no idea what you're talking about. I'd rather discuss this with anyone but your ignorant racist ass. By the way, quoting Edwin Starr while acting like it's some brilliant retort isn't a contribution to the discussion, it's just plagiarism. Typical for you, Wilson. Stick to pretending like you're a savvy street hood. Well never mind, you fail at that too.

Russia attacks Ukraine, launching a new war in Europe for the first time in years

Russian forces attacked Ukraine early Thursday morning, launching an offensive that threatens to kill thousands of people, force millions more to flee, and destabilize much of Europe, with the consequences certain to reverberate across the world. Blasts were heard from Kyiv, the capital, to the eastern city of Kharkiv — missile strikes, the Ukrainian interior ministry told CNN — with reports of outgoing artillery fire from Russian forces across the border. On the eve of the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took to the airwaves in a last-ditch appeal for peace — while pledging that Ukrainians would "Fight back" against any futher Russian incursion.

Putin using false 'Nazi' narrative to justify Russia's attack on Ukraine, experts say

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday peddled accusations of Nazi elements within Ukraine to justify the attack on his western neighbor, a move that experts slammed as slanderous and false. In announcing he had launched Russian forces l I'll uilookagainst key Ukrainian military and logistics posts, Putin said he's striving for "the demilitarization and denazification of" the sovereign democracy in Kyiv. Putin has long sought to falsely paint Ukraine as a Nazi hotbed, which is a particularly jarring accusation given that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is Jewish and lost three family members in the Holocaust. Claiming to fight the Nazis is "really code for replacing the Ukrainian government, which is especially ironic given that the Ukrainian president is Jewish," said Andrij Dobriansky of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, an ethnic advocacy group based in New York City.

How NATO Is Responding to Russia's Invasion of Ukraine

Members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have met Russia’s invasion of Ukraine with outrage, deploying thousands of troops to Eastern Europe to protect their alliance members. But while Russian forces launched a violent assault on Ukraine Thursday morning, NATO countries will not engage in warfare against Russia unless a member nation is attacked. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg called Russia’s moves “a brutal act of war” and affirmed Thursday morning that the military alliance would defend “every inch” of its territory should Russia attack a member country—an outcome military experts say is unlikely. Despite the ongoing warfare and mounting casualties, NATO will not send any troops to Ukraine, instead bolstering its own eastern flank.

Ukraine: Explosions rock Kyiv and Ukraine second city Kharkiv

The massive explosion in Vasylkiv, 18 miles (30km) south of Kyiv, prompted warnings of toxic chemical fumes. Those nearby were warned to close their windows - though many in Kyiv are already sheltering underground. A strict curfew was enforced in the city on Saturday and is in place until Monday.
In underground car parks, metro stations and basements, thousands are waiting to assess the damage the darkness brought. It will have been a cold, cramped and uncomfortable night for many underneath their homes, listening for the sounds of gunfire and thudding missiles, the uncertainty and fear growing. Away from the capital, missiles battered several cities overnight - including Ukraine's second-largest, Kharkiv, close to the Russian border.

I see Russia is kicking off in Ukraine's ass, while the USA and the rest of the world is being punked by putting sanctions on Putin. Why are protesting and pretending too care for Ukraine? Now those Russians are going to make our gas prices double. It will not effect me, I ride (HUMMER EV) all electric now. Then y'all be protesting that. If you are going to claim being a country, you need to be able to defend yourself. The Jews figured that out when Germany came a knocking. They are still feeling the effects of Hitler. C'mon Biden, flex your presidential muscles and be a super hero man.
