V (the new series)

I agree with what Wacky said.

Oh, Super Girl. I couldn't figure out why I recognised her.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty good, too, but they should've explored the first few days more. They still could've done the whole resistance thing in the first episode, just needed to show more of what the Vs were doing to get humanity on their side.

Shame to see Alan Tudyk's character die. :( I was excited when he popped up. Hopefully the Vs disguises get produced like BSG skinjobs so he could come back.

nuV wasn't half-bad.

The beginning with Anna reminded me of Woody Allen's mother from "NY Stories".

V 2.0 deserves a chance.

I can see who nuWillie & Martin 2.0 are already.

Who will nuBarbara 2.0 be?

We'll have to wait & see.

I liked it! The resistance is my favorite part, I was totally surprised when Alan Tudyk turned out to be a V, but maybe I shouldn't have been, I DON'T KNOW.

THERE ARE MANY COPIES.

Dammit, I must have missed Walsh's death. :(

Why do I always think his name was Wash? I'm glad I didn't say WASH DIED.

Those lizards must be really skinny under all that human skin.

It was Wash

What? GRR.. OK THEN.

He was called Wash. Hoban Washburne.

Btw...

As the original miniseries was inspired by the novel It Can't Happen Here by Sinclair Lewis and later became a Nazi allegory, the re-imagined series has been accused of being an allegory of the Obama Administration.[15][16][17] In his review of the show, Troy Patterson of Slate points out that bloggers and journalists had noticed parallels between the show's premise and the Barack Obama administration, and writes that "if the show is to have the symbolic import that we expect from a science-fiction story, this is the only possible way to read V as a coherent text."[15] Lisa de Moraes of The Washington Post noted in her review that the fact the series was debuting on the one-year anniversary of Obama's election "was not lost on some ... TV critics" and also remarked that the use of phrases present in the series (such as "hope", "change", and "Universal Health Care" being offered by the Visitors) made it seem as though "Lou Dobbs had taken over the network."

I raised an eyebrow when the Vs' help was described as "universal healthcare", but I don't see it as an Obama analogy.

Eh, yeah. My bad. :(

I heard the Obama thing on the news yesterday. I think the bloggers are grasping at straws.. it's true that sci fi often shows current politics in an allegorical way, but I think they were just trying to be clever when they used "universal healthcare".

Well, it would be universal....wouldn't it? Or am I missing something.

(notice I flipped a lot during this show?)

Totally disregard that last post. I'VE FUCKING LOST MY GODDAMNED MIND ARGH WORK

At least you're not on IMDb gloating over a show about aliens being an attack on "Obamanistas".

I can't even say that word.

First time I'd ever seen it, but I'm not very up to speed on why a bunch of people hate Obama more than Hitler.

Didn't you know? HE IS HITLER REINCARNTED AND WILL BRING ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD DESTRUCTION PAGUE PESTILENCE ALL CHANGED BY THE MUTANT APOCALYPSE AND AN ANGEL WITH METAL WINGS WILL FLY AROUND ON A MECHANICAL HORSE

The resistance leader will probably grow a Hitler moustache and say "even Hitler's better than OBAMA...I mean, those aliens."

I'm so confused, I thought it started tomorrow. I will watch it then and report back. Watching the original series-I was very young and it was past my bedtime. I could sneak down the hall and see the television, and eventually they would just stop telling me to go to sleep and I would end up watching it. I remember some parts being frightening-I wonder how it would be to re watch those same scenes and episodes now.
Hell I might as well watch the Thornbirds then too.
