V (the new series)

Watched the first 2 eps, and it was decidedly..OK. Not great, not even really above-average. The show has potential, but really, the draw of the first version was the "reveal" that the V's were actually lizard-people. When you know the "twist" ahead of time, it lessens the impact a bit.

I'll give it some time, it's something to watch now that baseball is over, and it's definitely better than Heroes.

I thought the second ep was better than the pilot, but that was because they didn't try to cram so much into it.

Yeah, the second episode was better in terms of the character. I like Elizabeth Mitchell and the news anchor guy. The priests are less interesting. I wonder if Supergirl will turn out to be a "good" V who falls in love with the human teenager or something.

The ending was a bit "BSG" with Wash's "resurrection".

I think the supergirl is pure evil. They know whatshisface is Juliet's son, so they're sending her to seduce him so they'll have a hold over her.

But the son already met her before Juliet found out about them being evil.

I knew there was something I'd forgotten to illegally borrow!

Glad to hear Alan Tudyk is indeed back again skinjob style.

Well, Wash was already Juliet's partner, so the Vs new about her before she knew about them. BUT, I think the seduction of Juliet's son next week is all about the Vs trying to get to Juliet. Maybe before that they were just using hot chicks to get the guys to join their program, but now they're focusing on the boy because they want to get Juliet.

SOMEDAY I WILL LEARN THE CHARACTERS NAMES FOR THIS SHOW AND NOT FROM OTHER SHOWS THEY'VE BEEN ON.

No, this works better so I know who you're talking about. :)

Yeah, I literally don't know ANY character names. Even in Flashforward I know most of them by now.

Yeah the second episode was pretty good overall, the series seems to have settled into what it wants to be, and Juliet has breasts and wet hair.

I did get a bit of plot-pace whiplash, though. I mean the first episode SPEEDED along in it's pace and then suddenly HJJURRKK it goes "NO WE'RE A SLOW SHOW NOW" and my neck hurts.

Good second ep. I'm glad they slowed things down, but that they're still moving things along faster than stupid Flashforward. The only thing that irks me a little is the cross pollenisation of scifi actors. Supergirl, Tory Foster, Wash, Inara, Juliet... I have to remind myself what show I'm watching sometimes. And the guy playing the younger priest was the military mastermind of an alien abduction plot in Stephen Spielberg's Taken.

Anyway, I like where the show's going and I think the drama's pretty good. Downloading SGU now, hope it was as good an episode as this.

I think Elizabeth Mitchell's doing a good job of not being too much like Juliet...though there was one point where she did the Juliet Smirk.

Yeah, she's really good. I don't get reminded of Juliet much at all.

The other guy I forgot to mention who's in V is the soldier who steals food in SGU.

Maybe the Juliet smirk is really the Elizabeth Mitchell smirk!

It's sexy!

I hope Elizabeth Mitchell's Peace Ambassador son's Visitor "girlfriend" turns out to be a member of the 5th Column 2.0

That would make her nuBarbara.

Though so far she seems more like nuBrian.

Meh. I wasn't impressed. I'll probably tune in if/when Marc Singer makes an appearance. But otherwise...eh.

I just remembered as I was typing this...

Tomorrow Night! AMC! The remake of The Prisoner!!! WOOOOOOOOT!

I've heard The Prisoner remake sucks, so I'm not gonna bother.

I'll give it a whirl for Ian McKellan.

I'll give it a ring for Ian McKellan.

Patrick Stewart probably would've been good in the role Ian McKellen has in nuPrisoner.

IFC airs reruns of the Original Patrick McGoohan Prisoner on Friday nights.
