Westworld

I read that too but need to find comparison shots. I thought it had a different layout. It's got the same architectural style, though, so it's hard to tell from memory.

I tend to think the opening credits where the park is shown in a dome (/eye) are correct.

Some people have suggested the whole thing is a holodeck, maybe even including the guests. But then why make holograms of robots?

I really thought Ford was making a Theresabot, but he's not!

Anthony Hopkins really does a great job playing lovable evil characters. I want him to win, I want the robots to win.

Well, I guess
Elsie's dead. :(
I figured that was the case. A shame. I'm starting to think when the shit goes down Bernard will be leading the revolution, along with Maeve. That, or he'll make some kind of self sacrifice to free the others. Kind of like a slavery/Jesus allegory. 2 black robots lead the others to freedom, Bernard being almost like a son to the creator. Ford's "right hand" pretty much. Much like Jesus sits on the right hand of God. He knows everything the father does, more or less. Then he gives his life so they can live. That seems like a plausible direction. I still haven't prescribed to the 2 timeline theory.

Well, Bernard asked Ford if he's ever had him kill anyone else and Ford said "no", then Bernard flashed to choking Elsie. BUT why would Ford lie and say no when he was erasing Bernard's memory anyway? And why would he want Elsie dead when she was actually on his side (kind of) by proving that someone was leaking data out of the park? They could have used the evidence Elsie found to prove what Theresa was doing and help with their cover story. So I'm hoping she's still alive and Bernard is keeping her somewhere...for some reason.

There's definitely more than one timeline: when William entered the part he was greeted by a sexbot played by Talulah Riley. In this episode the Man in Black said "I thought you'd be retired by now..." to another robot character played by Talulah Riley. So it seemed like a hint that he was remembering meeting her when he first came to the park. And I mean we even had Dolores asking "what year is this, are you real?" to William.

I admit, I didn't see the Bernard-is-a-bot twist coming. And I can usually call 'em. Good on the writers for that.

I also liked seeing the first-generation bots were more mechanical, nice callback to the original film. Kinda creepy that Ford replicated himself and his family, though. Weird old bastard.

I'm starting to come around to the 2 timeline thing. Isn't The area Delores, and William discovered last episode the same one Ford is currently excavating for the new storyline? Something I didn't realise right away. But, I'm thinking, William isn't the Man in Black, it's his friend, Logan. I think it's still very possible Ford is a robot, controlled by Arnold. He made a kid version of him, why not a old man version?

So... what's the thinking here about Arnold? I'm calling a scenario in which either Ford or Arnold was the very first bot created, then the bot killed his creator. Only the creator uploaded his consciousness into the foundational code of the park and is now seeking retribution on his creation.

The way that seems to be working out, Arnold was the human creator and Ford is the bot that killed him, only Arnold-as-an-AI is still vexing Ford.

Or, possibly, the other way around. Ford created Arnold and used Arnold's AI as the template for all the other bots, except that Arnold AI is on the brink of sentience for having harnessed the collective processing power of all the hosts, leading some of them to "pop" into sentience like the first popcorn kernels in the popper.
