What film did you recently see ? Do not forget to rate it

The movie I watched before that was Dirty Mary Crazy Larrry.

Talk about long cuts....

The chase sequences are a real selling point for this movie. No CGI. No fast cuts. Just pure speed. The characters and the script are sublimely written.

8/10

Sadly enough, I must agree with the Cumchugger.

Gran Torino.

Story is nothing new (old racist bastard takes young ethnic kid under wing), but Eastwood being Eastwood is able to make it worth the rehash. Only bad thing is that he pretty much outshines everyone else in the film. Ending is not what you would expect, although in the last few seconds you can catch the twist.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: Pleasanlty surprised. It certainly is way too long but it's also funny at times and has an awesome concept at its core. Of course, Cate Blanchett is awesome as usual and I have no idea why she didn't get at least a nomination for her role. 7/10.

War of the Worlds... dubbed in french.

The voice actress who dubbed Dakota Fanning single-handedly ruined an already average movie. Her voice was unbearable.

2/10.

^Yeah, the German version was pretty fucked-up, too.

Watched Wedding Crashers. Meh, what a seriously insignificant little movie. Slightly funny at times, but all in all, it was a 3/10.

Doubt

Definitely interesting and entertaining, although it gets off to a slow start. Meryl Streep is good but I don't think this is her Best. Performance. Evar. Amy Adams is okay, but the real standout is Philip Seymour Hoffman, who walks the highwire act that is his character perfectly. Streep is grabbing all the awards attention away from him and it's a shame. Overall the movie is enagaging, and very well done, but it's not a Best Picture nominee for a reason.

He's just not that into you
Sucked. I don't recomend it.

The only redeeming thing about watching this movie were the kids in front of us who looked like they were on some sort of a date, they were entertaining to watch. Drew Barrymore was disapointing to look at, all of the girls except Scarlett were nothing to go home to dream about. Jennifer's hands looked old! Poor girl. Ginnifer Goodwin was cute, but her clothes were awful, I enjoyed her performance in Big Love, she kept that same cute quality about her-but not enough to bring the movie through.
The guys on the other hand surprised me. I really enjoyed Justin Long and Bradley Cooper.
Other than that, the movie sucked. Seriously, do we need a movie telling us how we know if a guy is into us or not? You just insulted every woman out there, and it was more insulting to watch.

Far From Heaven.

I give it a solid 7. A bit depressing, and I was hoping for a better ending, but Julianne Moore was great.

Ne Le Dis à Personne.

François Cluzet delivers strongly. The plot is very smart, and the ending is satisfying - which is a rarity among most modern thrillers, which tend to progress in a realistic manner, then end with some surreal plot twist involving an army of clones/time warp/a revelation that the investigator is the very killer.

Watchmen

Good movie. Takes a bit itself too seriously at times. Character presentation was smooth, perhaps too smooth, in the sense that roughly 2 hours out of 2 hours and a half are spent on character backstories.

All in all, it's a decent flick.

7.5/10.

Murder in the First -- Just fine. Lots of fun stars and character actors. They should make a sequel.

Frankie and Johnny (The Elvis one, not the Pacino/Pfieffer one.) -- The best Elvis movie I've seen so far! Lots of fun theater action, colorful costumes, the girlfriend mixup/switcheroo, and some awfully risque jokes. The girl from Beverly Hillbillies is the main girl, and she has the same hair. For the most part the movie even made sense. I rate it slightly above It Happened At the Worlds Fair and way way above Viva Las Vegas.

Pineapple Express. Another movie by the "Apatow" crew that failed to live up to the hype. I'm becoming more and more convinced that this genre peaked with The 40-Year-Old Virgin. I mean, Knocked Up was pretty funny. Superbad, IMHO, was just "mildly amusing". Ditto Pineapple Express.

I would be remiss, however, if I didn't mention how fucking awesome Danny McBride was as "Red". He MADE the movie for me, his scenes, his delivery...it was the only thing that really made me LOL. I give it a C, and it woulda be a C- if not for McBride.

Oh, and my 4 1/2-year-old son saw The Pink Panther 2 which he described thusly: "It was about a detective on a plane, who had a tough adventure. Like Indiana Jones but not really. But I was tired, so I left before it was over, and Mama was very mad". So I guess that would be an F? I mean, he didn't even stay, and couldn't even rememember the title, I had to look it up for him.

7 Pounds

The story was told well, drama, intrigue and all that; I like the way it unfolded even if it was a bit slow at times.
But the ending made me hate it. Good idea but pure bullshit, and out of context to the entire story I just sat through.

Overall 4
The main story 7

Slumdog Millionaire (second viewing).

Not a bad movie, if you did not expect much in the first place. The first 30 minutes are very enjoyable. The cinematography and the music in the part when the protagonist was a kid leave nothing to be desired.

The remaining 90 minute are predictable, one-dimensional borefest. I absolutely hated the typical bollywood dance at the end.

Definitely does NOT deserve a crapload of Oscars.

Race to Witch Mountain

Very cute, I would highly recomend it. It was hokie at times, but an overall feel good movie I suppose with a little bit of action and stupid sci fi. I really do not want to rate it I was on a date and wasn't paying attention anyway.

Watchmen.

Good in that it wasn't your average superhero movie. Needed more blue cock in your face though.

Penelope.

I love James McAvoy so it was great to see him as a romantic lead. Christina Ricci was pretty cute and looked more fuller (which is how she should always be). Catherine O'Hara rocked as the neurotic mother who thinks she can cure her daughter. And then Reese Witherspoon showed up, and it was all good. Also sends out a nice message to not only young girls, but everyone.

8/10.

How was The Rock?

Great as always.

Just saw Hidalgo 8
A little slow in the beginning and towards the end, but overall an enjoyable movie and a true story. Makes me think of the relationship between man and horse and many nations and thier horses. [/goofy]
You ony live Twice James Bond 10
I was really shocke I hadn't seen this one yet as I thought I had seen them all. Now I know where they got some of the quotes for Austin Powers. I love James Bond so I give it a 10. I didn't even finish watching it-

I saw a whole bunch of movies this weekend one that especially made me think of here. I'll have to do some more research.
