Hitman Meets The D-O-Double-G: Bret Hart Snaps Photo with Snoop Dogg

Hitman Mets The D-O-Double- G
Bret Hart, often referred to as "The Hitman," is a wrestling legend in his own right. His accomplishments are currently being revisited in the VICE TV documentary - Snoop Dogg, a bonafide WWE Hall of Famer and WrestleMania personality, has a long history with the world of professional wrestling.

Jesse Ventura addresses wrestling critics, defend against "fake" wrestling
He used Ric Flair as an example, calculating that Flair must have landed on his back around 27,000 times throughout his career. Ventura also noted that from WrestleMania I in 1985, very few stars from that pivotal event, which catapulted WWE into the mainstream, are still around today. Ventura considers himself fortunate to still be alive, given the loss of so many of his colleagues.

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair Signs New Action Figure Deal and It Isn't With WWE or AEW

Some interesting news, perhaps, has come out as part of Kyle Peterson's Wrestling Toy News video for the week. The popular YouTuber broke the news that "Nature Boy" Ric Flair will have a brand new wrestling action figure coming out as part of the Heels and Faces line of toys. This brand of toys is not affiliated in any way with WWE nor AEW. The figure in question will feature Flair with his famed crimson mask, bloody face look. It will be available for purchase on September 26th, 2024.

It is interesting to note that the line, which will also feature Abdullah the Butcher, Mike Awesome, Tajiri, and Badnews Brown, has had prior releases for Hasbro style figures for wrestlers that never got that style of figure before. Namely, Power and Glory of Paul Roma and Hercules Hernandez who were hot at the time of WWE transfering their toy line from the classic rubber LJN line to their deal with Hasbro. With that being said, AEW does have a contract with Ric Flair presently and it is odd that given their action figures have Walmart and Target reach, they have yet to do a "Nature Boy" figure but third-party brand has struck a deal with the "Nature Boy."

WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa'i, father of Roman Reigns, dies at

WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa'i, the father of pro wrestling's top star, Roman Reigns, has died, the organization announced Tuesday. Anoa'i was 79. Anoa'i was a three-time WWE tag-team champion as one-half of The Wild Samoans alongside his brother, Afa. They were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007. Following their in-ring career, the tag team trained wrestlers -- including Batista -- at The Wild Samoan Training Facility. They also trained their nephew, WWE Hall of Famer Yokozuna. Anoa'i's family tree is among the greatest in wrestling history. WWE's long-running "Bloodline" storyline features Reigns as the leader of a faction comprised of Samoans who are family members and longtime family friends. The Rock entered the "Bloodline" program in February ahead of a WrestleMania 40 tag-team main event in April alongside his close family friend, Reigns. "My father had a profound impact on my entire family and we are forever grateful for the foundation he built for us," Reigns posted Tuesday on X. "There's no way to fill the void left by his passing but my sisters and I will do our best to represent him and his legacy." Reigns hasn't appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania 40 in April, when he lost the WWE undisputed championship to Cody Rhodes. That ended Reigns' 1,316-day title reign, fourth longest in WWE history.

WWE superstar Shinsuke Nakamura to corner Rei Tsuruya in debut at UFC 303

Japanese WWE superstar Shinsuke Nakamura will be cornering fellow countryman Rei Tsuruya for his upcoming fight against Carlos Hernandez at UFC 303 on Saturday in Las Vegas. Nakamura posted on X that he would be in the corner of the 22-year old on Saturday. "Fight the world at #ufc @ufc Please support Rei Tsuruya @mma_rei," Nakamura wrote. "Shinsuke Nakamura becomes second for Rei Tsuruya in UFC debut, internet goes crazy with comments like 'Yaaaaaw!' and 'Seriously?'" WWE officials confirmed the news with ESPN on Thursday.

Although Nakamura may be best known for his run in the WWE as a former Intercontinental, United States and NXT champion, he is also a former three-time IWGP heavyweight champion during his time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and competed five times in MMA from 2002-2004 with a record of 3-1 (1 no contest). All three of Nakamura's wins came by submission, as his in-ring performance and "King of Strong Style" has been heavily influenced by MMA throughout his pro wrestling career.

Tsuruya is a highly touted flyweight prospect who earned a UFC contract on Road to UFC 2 in February with a TKO win over Jiniushyiyue, a competition put together for prospects in Asia. The 22-year-old has an undefeated MMA record of 9-0 with eight finishes and will make his formal UFC debut on Saturday against Hernandez, who holds a 9-3 record and a 2-2 mark in the UFC thus far. With the UFC and WWE operating under the TKO Group umbrella, taking advantage of a crossover opportunity like this is not surprising.

Suit against Vince McMahon paused at Justice Dept.'s request

The woman accusing Vince McMahon of sexual misconduct agreed to pause her lawsuit against the former WWE CEO after a request from the Justice Department, her attorney told ABC News on Thursday. Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, alleged in a 67-page suit filed in January that McMahon forced her into a sexual relationship in order for her to keep her job and passed around pornographic content of her to other men at the company. "Ms. Grant has consented to a request by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York to stay her case against Mr. McMahon, WWE and Mr. [John] Laurinaitis, pursuant to a pending non-public investigation," Ann Callis, Grant's attorney, said in a statement to ABC News. "We will cooperate with all appropriate next steps."

In the lawsuit, Grant said McMahon paid $1 million but stopped making payments thereafter. She seeks to void the NDA and receive unspecified financial damages. Grant signed a nondisclosure agreement in 2022 in connection with an agreement from McMahon to pay her $3 million. WWE started a board investigation that same year after it received an anonymous tip about the improper relationship. In the lawsuit, Grant said McMahon paid $1 million but stopped making payments thereafter. She seeks to void the NDA and receive unspecified financial damages. McMahon briefly retired from WWE in July 2022 after revelations of multiple payouts to several women connected to sexual misconduct allegations. The internal investigation conducted by an outside law firm found $14.6 million in payments by McMahon.

2024 WWE Money in the Bank results, recap, grades: CM Punk thwarts McIntyre again, Solo Sikoa pins Cody Rhodes

WWE's 15th annual Money in the Bank pay-per-view turned out to be one of its most chaotic. Cody Rhodes suffered his first pinfall loss since becoming undisputed WWE champion, Tiffany Stratton and Drew McIntyre won the Money in the Bank ladder matches and CM Punk flipped the world heavyweight championship match on its head for the second pay-per-view in a row. McIntyre opened the pay-per-view by winning the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match and, as promised, cashed in during the world title match between Damian Priest and Seth Rollins. However, Punk quickly hit the ring and attacked McIntyre, eventually setting up Priest to pin "The Scottish Warrior." The result not only robbed McIntyre of winning the world title yet again, but it also means (per the pre-established stipulation) Rollins cannot challenge for the title again as long as Priest is champion.
