ufc apex to host first wwe event on june 9
WWE, in partnership with the UFC, has announced that NXT Battleground will take place at the UFC Apex on Sunday, June 9 in Las Vegas. This will mark the first-ever WWE event that will be hosted at the 130,000-square foot production facility, home of UFC Fight Night events, Dana White's Contender Series and more. Last September, UFC's parent company Endeavor and the WWE announced the closing of a merger between the mixed martial arts and professional wrestling promotions to create TKO.

WWE is taking Backlash overseas in 2024. The card takes place on Saturday from LDLC Arena in Lyon, France and is the first major event to follow this year's massive WrestleMania 40 event. The card is shaping up with five matches announced thus far, including both men's world championships and the WWE women's world title. Undisputed WWE universal champion Cody Rhodes will defend the title against AJ Styles in a long-awaited first-time encounter. Ric Flair is sharing regret over losing his cool at a Gainesville pizza joint over the weekend ... saying he should've just walked right out the minute things got heated. As we previously reported, the Nature Boy was caught on camera yelling at a Piesanos staffer over an alleged bathroom interaction with the kitchen manager and things got so tense, a patron offered to take things outside. "It just escalated and I was wrong for getting mad, but I kind of felt like I was defending my position," Flair said on the radio show. Flair also backtracked on his scathing review of the eatery ... admitting he enjoyed his time and the meal there before things went sideways. As for the narrative alcohol had anything to do with it, Flair denied being drunk or buzzed ... saying he only had Michelob Ultras and "probably" two mixed drinks. And get this -- Flair said he ended up ordering some Piesanos grub on Uber Eats after the spat ... so it sounds like he ain't exactly boycotting the place.

AEW current world champions and title history
Since its formation in 2019, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has given rise to longtime legends plus new names in the sport. Wrestlers like Chris Jericho (AEW World Champions), Riho (AEW Women's World Champion) and Cody Rhodes (AEW TNT Champion) were among the inaugural champions in 2019. Currently, there are eight active championship belts in AEW: four in the men's division, two in the women's division and two in the tag team division.
A ninth title will be up for grabs at the end of the year, as the inaugural AEW Continental Championship will be determined by the Continental Classic tournament, which will culminate at the Worlds End pay-per-view event on Dec. 30, 2023. The winner will also be declared AEW's first Triple Crown Champion, as the Ring of Honor (sister promotion of AEW) World Championship and New Japan Pro-Wrestling's (partner promotion of AEW) Strong Openweight Championship.
