WWE has seen some big changes in recent weeks, with previously-released talent returning, a renewed focus on secondary titles and a shift in focus of weekly television, all in the wake of Vince McMahon's departure from the company. That forward momentum continued on Monday night's edition of Raw, with a host of intriguing matches and segments as the company continues to build to the Clash at the Castle premium live event on Sept. 3. The highlight of the show was a confrontation and match between Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre. While McIntyre will challenge Roman Reigns for the undisputed WWE universal championship at Clash at the Castle, Owens wanted to make it perfectly clear that he considers himself the next man up for the winner, leading to a memorable segment and match between the two men.

WWE Raw results, recap, grades: Lesnar and Lashley brawl again, Reigns delivers threat to Paul

With Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia less than one week away and participants at the event unable to appear on SmackDown due to travel, the final heavy lifting for the event had to happen on Raw on Monday night. That included rare television appearances from both Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. Unsurprisingly, Lesnar found himself in another brawl with Crown Jewel opponent Bobby Lashley. The action got so out of hand that even Triple H had to make his presence known to help break up the fight. As for Reigns, the undisputed WWE universal champion did not come face-to-face with Logan Paul, the man who will challenge for the title on Saturday. Instead, Reigns made an example out of The Miz, saying that no one should be talking about the possibility of Paul knocking him out as no man alive can accomplish that task, especially not an "outsider."

WWE's final major event of the year takes place at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on Nov. 26. The Bloodline and Damage CTRL are expected to battle their rivals in men's and women's WarGames matches, respectively. WarGames is a team-based match featuring two rings contained within a large cell. The match begins with one representative from each team duking it out. The remaining competitors enter in a staggered format and the contest cannot conclude until all participants are locked in the cage. The winner is determined by pinfall, submission, surrender or knockout. SmackDown women's champion Ronda Rousey will defend her crown against Shotzi at Survivor Series. Shotzi was awarded the title shot after defeating Lacey Evans, Liv Morgan, Sonya Deville, Raquel Rodriguez and Xia Li in a Six-Pack Challenge on the Nov. 11 episode of SmackDown.

On Monday night, Roman Reigns sent the members of The Bloodline to deliver a message to not only Kevin Owens, but the entire Raw locker room. While the group did cause havoc throughout the night, it was Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins who closed the show standing tall. In addition to The Bloodline's assaults throughout the night, Dexter Lumis and The Miz battled in a ladder match that ended with the WWE return of Bronson Reed while Bayley managed to sneak away with a big win over Becky Lynch.

WWE Monday Night Raw Results

  • The Street Profits def. The Judgement Day via pinfall when Montez Ford rolled up Finn Balor. Balor was distracted when Akira Tozawa threw a drink in Dominik Mysterio's face at ringside.
  • Rhea Ripley def. Akira Tozawa via pinfall after hitting Riptide. Ripley challenged Tozawa after his interference in the previous match, as with any intergender match in WWE, Tozawa hit zero offense on Ripley aside from pin attempts.
  • The O.C. def. Alpha Academy via pinfall after hitting a Magic Killer on Chad Gable. After the match, The Bloodline attacked.
  • Alexa Bliss and Bianca Belair sat down for an interview. After explaining that she was not in the grips of Bray Wyatt despite nearly hitting Belair with Sister Abigail last week, Bliss ended the interview by breaking a vase over Belair's head.
  • The Miz def. Dexter Lumis in a "winner-take-all" ladder match after Bronson Reed returned to WWE to take out Lumis.
  • Bayley def. Becky Lynch via pinfall with a Rose Plant. Lynch dealt with interference from Damage CTRL throughout the match, with that finally coming to a head as they distracted the referee, allowing Bayley to hit Lynch with a ringside monitor before hitting a Rose Plant for the finish.
