still haven't finished Jenn's painting. hot as fuck outside. some sort of cricket infestation in the downstairs hallway. got some new office supplies. not sure why that gives me joy, but I'll take it. missed Mindy's baby shower. eh, fuck it. I'll paint the baby's room and buy her a bucket of margaritas once she can drink again. less easily amused than I used to be. restless.

August 19: took pictures obsessively, scratched mosquito bites, saw some baby kittens, read, the end.

August 20/07:
it suddenly dawned on me yesterday that I could've taken really cool pix of interesting peeps and displays ALL weekend, and never thought of it. :(

bought 3 CDs: one of a Camaroon band (disappointing; they were much more exhilarating live); a modern band from Manitoba for a friend who has a birthday in Sept,; and a Québecois Kitchen Band; also picked up a wall-decoration-plaque-kind of thingy that has Celtic decorations on it. The guy had lots of really lovely celtic reproductions and original carvings including an incredible giant Green Man, but it was $310.00 , so no. If only I'd brought the camera!

August 21/07:

^that's me today!!!

but I have to do laundry or life as we know it will be changed forever: the planet will tilt radically from the weight of my dirty laundry, & we will start to orbit farther away from the sun. home pools will freeze over. toddlers will cry as their parents try unsuccessfully to prise the floaty toys and colourful oversized plastic balls from the ice..... omg.
ITS ALL ON ME!

August 21: Attacked by mosquitoes while taking pictures. MAY HAVE WEST NILE VIRUS LOLOMG.

Dr office called and said grandma is lactose intolerant, thought she was going to cry because she practically lives on milk since she has so much trouble swallowing. I told her the milk isn't killing her, just gives her the poops. ANYWAY will be getting some of those drops you put in milk and see if that works.

I saw some Perseids last week, but I was distracted by the russling at the end of the garden, thought it might be flasher-man, but it was a fox.

20/8/7

Went to Thorpe Park, pretty much my first ever rollercoaster ride(scared of heights) and went on all the scariest ones.. really enjoyed it. Fear of heights cured? Also I convinced everyone to go on the water ride promising that we wouldn't get that wet.. eeb. When we crashed into the water it looked like the Stargate opening up. Lots of wet, slightly angry friends. :D

August 23/07:
work work work pfrtsxzrtz; dont feel like watching TV so maybe I'll go upstairs and read a book in front of the fan. we need a thunderstorm BIGTIME!

August 24: A really big tree fell in the backyard early this morning. I am really bad at guessing how tall things are so I won't, but it was taller than a two story house at least. Anyway it ripped out giant limbs from a nearby tree and when I go out there things are still falling and creaking and groaning. Kinda scary to stand near even though all the big stiff is already on the ground. I tried to take a picture but it's so muggy outside that the lens keeps fogging up. I'll try again in a little bit.. I've put the camera in a warmer part of the house so it won't have to rapidly warm up when I go out.

OH and happy birthday to me :rwmad: everyone keeps reminding me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASSIE WHICH REMINDS ME I FORGOT TO WISH MY PAL KEVVY H.B. YESTERDAY (H.BELATED B. KEVVY HOPE IT WAS NICE)
SO I GUESS HE HATES ME NOW SO THAT'S THAT.

August 24: TWO MORE TREES FELL!! Seriously, I was walking all around taking pictures of the other tree that fell and when I came back inside two trees that had been standing right next to the other tree fell. I COULDA BEEN KILLED!

GLAD YOU WERENT KILLED CASSIE IN THE LINE OF PICTURE-TAKING DUTY!

August 25/07 - no thunder & lightening show for me to watch from the veranda but that's OK - it's still rain. My pal from Montréal was shocked @ how brown everything was up here; things are looking much better.

went to farmers' market got a new thyme plant & some whitefish.

*vows*
am NOT bringing thyme indoors this winter.

8/25-Spent my day on Caladesi Island.Got a tan, caught about 20 sand dollars and looked for shells.Water was perfect, warm actually. It was 102F but on the beach it didnt feel too hot.Saw a baby armadillo and a big turtle whilst on the island and had fish swimming about me in the clear water. Also saw tons of wee crabs as we were waiting for the ferry.Plan on maybe heading out there again next weekend, not terribly far from my house. Was a great day.
