Oregon State Beavers' four-year run in AP women's basketball poll ends The Beavers had the seventh-longest active streak, being ranked for 76 consecutive weeks dating to Dec. 19, 2016. Oregon State lost its lone game last week, falling to Washington State and dropping out of the poll from No. 21.

College Basketball Power Rankings: Rutgers Scarlet Knights make first appearance on list Christmas Week is generally reserved for the Diamond Head Classic, the occasional Louisville-Kentucky game ... and that's about it. That's not quite the case this year. The Big Ten has games on Christmas Day and the day after Christmas, and it's joined on Dec. 26 by two intriguing nonconference games in Gonzaga vs. Virginia and the aforementioned Kentucky at Louisville matchup.
Report: Duke Blue Devils end women's basketball season amid coronavirus concerns The Blue Devils are the first Power Five school to have started this season and will not finish it because of the virus. The Ivy League opted out of playing winter sports in November before the basketball season started. A few other schools also decided not to play this year.
Alabama Crimson Tide boast six AP first-team All-Americans
Heisman Trophy finalists Mac Jones and Devonta Smith have been selected to the Associated Press All-America team, leading a contingent of five Alabama players on the first-team offense. Crimson Tide running back Najee Harris, tackle Alex Leatherwood and center Landon Dickerson are also first-team selections. No. 1 Alabama is the first team since 1980, when the AP All-America team began featuring two wide receivers and two running backs, to place a quarterback, running back and receiver on the first team. Cornerback Patrick Surtain II gives the Crimson Tide six first-team selections, the most in the nation. No. 4 Notre Dame, Alabama's College Football Playoff opponent this weekend, has two first-team All-Americans in offensive guard Aaron Banks and linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. Florida's Kyle Trask was selected second-team quarterback, and fellow Heisman finalist Trevor Lawrence of Clemson was the third-team quarterback on the AP teams released Monday. Lawrence, the likely first pick in the next NFL draft, was an AP All-American for the first time in his career.

The seventh College Football Playoff kicks off Friday, with No. 1 Alabama facing No. 4 Notre Dame in Arlington, Texas, and No. 2 Clemson battling No. 3 Ohio State in New Orleans. There are no debutants in this field; these four programs have combined for 18 of the 28 total CFP bids, in fact. But not every Tide, Tigers, Buckeyes or Irish team is a carbon copy of others (Notre Dame excluded, perhaps), and none of these programs fielded the greatest team of the CFP era. To set the table for this CFP, let's see where this batch of teams fits among the others. Let's rank all 28 to date (and also the 10 best teams to miss the playoff).
TCU Horned Frogs safety Trevon Moehrig to enter NFL draft
Moehrig, a potential first-round pick, is a finalist for the Thorpe Award, which annually goes to the nation's top defensive back. He's a two-time first-team All-Big 12 selection and has nine takeaways over the past two seasons, tied for second nationally in that span. The 6-foot-2, 202-pound Moehrig, a first-team ESPN All-American, was third on the Horned Frogs with 47 tackles this season and second with nine pass breakups. He has seven career interceptions, most among active TCU players.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish's Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah declares for NFL draft This season, Owusu-Koramoah won the Butkus Award as the nation's top linebacker and was also selected as the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. He finished 2020 with 62 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles.
Texas Longhorns QB Sam Ehlinger says he's entering NFL draft
Ehlinger, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds. He leaves ranked second in school history to Colt McCoy in career completions, passing yards, total offense, passing touchdowns and touchdowns responsible for.
Texas jumps up to No. 4 in AP men's college basketball poll; Gonzaga still No. 1 Texas (8-1) started the year at No. 19 and hadn't cracked the top 10 under Smart before this season. The Longhorns hadn't cracked the top five since spending three weeks at No. 3 followed by a week at No. 5 in February 2011 under former coach Rick Barnes.
Oregon Ducks fall out of women's hoops top 10 after 27-game win streak ends Oregon entered the Top 25 at No. 11 in the 2017-18 preseason poll and moved up a spot in the first regular-season poll that year. The Ducks hadn't fallen below 10th until Monday, climbing as high No. 1 for a few weeks last year.

NCAA men's basketball tournament to be played entirely in Indiana All 68 teams will come to compete for the national championship and play most of the games at multiple venues in Indianapolis. Selection Sunday is still scheduled for March 14, and the Final Four is set to be held April 3 and 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
