Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

...and WONDER WOMAN as the chick hero that probably should have gotten her own movie first but the studio is filled with impotent scared nerd assholes!

"That's absurd. Who'd pay money to watch a scantily clad hot chick in tall boots tie people up?!"

Really, DC/Warner should just cut to the chase and hire Ken Russell to make a Wonder Woman movie.

Well I am hyped up for this. I like what I have seen in all the trailers and I have a 100% record with never being wrong about Superman movies! Except maybe sometimes. Look, 2006 was an anomaly. LOL, I just realised I was posting bullshit about Superman Returns here 10 years ago. WE WILL ALL BE DEAD SOON. LOL.

Anyway..

I LIKED MAN OF STEEL OK and this is also looking good. I actually kind of like Eisenberg as Lex. The whole Doomsday Frankenstein thing look pretty goofy so I'm worried about that but I still have high hopes for this. Don't have a problem with Batfleck either and Gal Gadot is hot so that's nice! She's been working out for the role but still looks like she weighs about as much as a wet packet of quavers but eh...

IT WILL BE GOOD STOP BEING NEGATIVE.

Well I didn't like Man of Steel so even with entertaining trailers I can't get excited about this. I just remember being a child and loving the Christopher Reeve movies (well, the first three) and a lot of that was due to how good and likable Christopher Reeve was in the role. Whereas can you imagine any child liking Henry Cavill and loving his Superman? I can't! And I know these are supposed to be more dault than the Reeve movies, but the fact that they'd had to add Batman and Wonder Woman to what was supposed to be a Man of Steel sequel shows that they don't really have any faith in Cavill.

I think Cavill is fine as Superman but he's at a disadvantage due to not having played Clark yet (not really anyway.) He seems a bit too competent in the trailers as well. Reeve was brilliant at turning him in to a bumbling klutzy wimp. it's the best contrast. Would hope that Cavill would take some pointers there but it doesn't look like it. The Reeve films are very much a product of their times as well. I was fanatical about them as a kid. It was a brighter period of American exceptionalism and the vibe comes through in the films. Man of Steel has none of that but I did like the film a lot even if there was far too much fighting at the end. Became tiresome. Still liked it though! I would have much preferred a standalone sequel but DC is itching to get the JLA together so here we are.

I agree trailers don't say anything about how good or bad it will be but I'm quietly optimistic. Probably easier for me since I liked MoS already.

I saw some weird advert for Turkish airlines that had Affleck as Bruce doing a tourism thing for Gotham. I didn't really get it.

Those first ran during the Super Bowl. Fake ads for a fictional airline to promote the movie.

They did one for Metropolis too.

This thing is going to be a train wreck. There's blood in the water. DC/Warner is going to manage to fuck up their Batman and Superman film franchises yet again. It's like if you had a money printing machine and you used it to rob police officers by hitting them over the head with it.

Hmm. Maybe they paid to have their name used. Or else the producers didn't do their homework and now there will be a lawsuit that will grind on for years, sucking away all the profits.

I saw the (very impressive) Batmobile yesterday in the lobby of a cinema and it had signs all around it for "Turkish Cargo, the official air transport of the batmobile".

... I was confused.
This could be the Official tagline for Batman -vs- Superman *with* Wonder Woman, Aquaman, possibly Flash, Green Lantern, Cyborg(?), Lex Luthor, Doomsday, Evil General Zod, Black Perry White, and moer: Dong of Justice.

Interestingly enough, they've dropped the "Dong of Justice" subtitle off of it. And they're giving out literally hundreds of free tickets at this point. It has the Stink of Failure about it. I think Disney/Marvel should give Ryan Reynolds some yellow tights and a GoPro and release a "Whizzer" movie the same day as B -v- S: DoJ and beat them up and take their lunch money.

Oh, and a minor nitpick about the final trailer, if you understand anything about tactics (or, indeed, gravity) you must think Alfred hates Batman when he tells him that all the bad guys are on the 3rd floor, so he'll drop him off on 2. Yeah, I guess you can blow up the ceiling from 2 and bring the Bad Guys down to where you are, but you can also blow up the floor (that you aren't on) on 4 and drop it on the Bad Guys' heads--and then let the aforementioned gravity handle getting you to where you need to do some ass kicking. It's retarded. The only reason Alfred would drop Batman off on 2 if he needs to open a can of whoop-ass on 3 is if he hates him and wants him to die. :bergman:

Tired of being shot in the sun and surrounded by beautiful people? Come to gotham, get shot in the rain surrounded by depressed poor people.

I already had a bad feeling about this, as discussed above. Finally Monday came. The movie opens Friday. Surely there were some reviews posted over the weekend. Nu-uh. No reviews. None until today. Don't they usually have reviews out if the movie is good? They've been giving out literally hundreds of free tickets and there was an ad on TV today during lunch where reviews were conspicuously absent. Even crooked, edited down reviews like "A great...[waste of]...time!" Well this evening the reviews finally started popping up. It's a turd. Batman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeMentalist is a god!(2016) - Rotten Tomatoes

I mean, it will still probably make Michael Bay Transformers money, but I won't be seeing it.

I just went and read through the review blurbs and even the "fresh" ratings were like "A flawed film, but I didn't completely hate it."

Don't you know? It's all a SMEAR CAMPAIGN BY MARVEL.

It can't just be that the movie is really bad!
