Dollhouse discussion thread

ZOMBIES???!!
the show has ZOMBIES and I changed the channel?
:cries:

Well they are not zombies in the classical brain eating sense, but ya get the idea.

They are mindless in between jobs. I will be referring to them as zombies until Fox cancels the show, lol.

I wounder how what the odds are on it going past a full season.

Well the zombies won't remember discovering the memory-erasing rooms anyway, so it doesn't matter if they see them.

Second episode was better than the pilot. Still suffers from bad acting, and a silly plot.

I hate Topher, why do they have to have such a silly scientist in charge of these people's brains? Echo almost gets killed several times, but there's never anything to worry about. He's fucked up a few times, but he's got it under control.. nothing to worry about! BAH!

They need to come up with some believable justification for making these brainless puppets. They have so little regard for these people, they can't even have privacy. I bet the bathroom is just one big shitter.

So far the handler is the best character on the show.

Yeah, that was definitely better than the first one. The main plot was a little silly (a guy who hunts humans for sport?) but it was well executed and quite tense and had twists and turns and arrows and stuff.

Topher does annoy me too, yeah. He's not quirky and charming like a typical Whedon mad scientist (even Knox in Angel was more likable and he killed Fred!) He's just annoying. I'm not very impressed by the English boss woman either. I think maybe Alpha should go on a killing spree in their general vicinity.

I notice Amy Acker is just a guest star so I think Alpha will come back to finish her off soon.

If every rich person in town knows about Dollhouse then why is it so hard for Helo to find it?

I thought the hunt (even though the premise was silly) was very exciting. I KNEW there was gonna be something wrong with the water in the canteen! I wanted Echo to sneak around behind the crazy hunter guy and kick him in the nuts. Why did he bother drugging her, if he was just going to let it wear off? He could have killed her while she was laying there coughing up water. Stupid psycho!

If the show would focus more on the handler and his feelings for Echo, it would be a lot better. The other people in the Dollhouse should only speak when necessary, and Topher should DIE.. maybe he could accidentally fall into his brain wiper machine and become a permanently drooling vegetable.

Where do we all stand on the quality of the dialog?

It's kinda shit, imo. I expect it to get better SOON.

How long will it take for the dialog of drone version of Eco to get old?

It's not quite Whedonesque yet (the dialogue), but it's not worse than an average show (but average shows suck?)

There's a spoiler as to who's going to play Alpha, and it's pretty cool!!!

It's Alan Tudyk.

I don't know who that is!

WASH FROM FIREFLY

I know this sounds stupid, but my problem with the show is accepting the premise. I like everything else about it good enough, but I just can't buy into business model supporting The Dollhouse yet.

Vampires and Starships I can handle, but not this!

I agree.. all that tech would cost a lot, and are there really enough millionaires out there willing to pay that much for prostitutes? I mean they could just hire some really good slutty actresses, for a lot less I imagine.

I also don't get the ethics behind wiping these people's brains and putting their lives in danger for sex. I know there's a little more to it than sex, but it's not like they're saving the world or anything.

Well the Dollhouse people aren't supposed to be good guys, are they? They're not supposed to have morals.

The spoiler's pretty good. ALL WE NEED NOW is Summer Glau and Michelle Trachtenberg as Russian sisters (and Glau replacing Dushku as the lead would be good too, oooh controversial.)

Isn't Amy Acker (Fred from Angel) supposed to be in it as well?

She's been in both episodes, so yes.
