Seven feet alrighty --the casting department don't skimp, do they? His face is narrower...but they can just fill that out with beard.
I'm almost done with Storm of Swords, and just finished the big Gregor/Oberyn scene last night. God help me...my mind's eye keeps seeing the face of Brian Blessed in Flash Gordon whenever I imagine Clegane:

Renly looks much better now. I didn't see him as a potential charismatic leader in the first season but he they seem to have worked on that (in the brief parts we see.)
