With one game left this season, Prescott has eight interceptions and leads the league with 32 touchdown passes in 16 games. If Prescott ends up leading the NFL in touchdown passes, he would be the first Cowboys quarterback to hold that mark outright. Roger Staubach tied for the league lead with 23 in 1973.

********
Last year at this time, most of the talk about Prescott centered around his interceptions. He would end up tied for the league lead in interceptions with 15 despite missing five games with a broken right thumb.

y--: Dallas | 12 - 5

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys did what they set out to do Sunday against the rival Commanders, unlike a year ago by earning the NFC East title and the No. 2 seed in the conference with a 38-10 victory at Washington to close the regular season. In Week 18 a year ago, also in Landover, the Cowboys came in needing a win for a shot at the division title but lost 26-6 to Washington and Howell, who made his NFL debut that day.

Washington | 4 - 13

With thousands of Cowboys fans in the stands chanting “De-fense! De-fense!” when Washington had the ball, and “Let’s go, Cowboys!” when Dallas did, the Commanders' losing streak reached eight games. That includes going 0-6 since Rivera fired defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio and made himself the play-caller on that side of the ball.

Cowboys' Mike McCarthy: Revisiting Packers tenure 'won't help us win'

When the Dallas Cowboys return to practice Wednesday, they will hear nothing from coach Mike McCarthy about his tenure with the Green Bay Packers as they prepare to face his former team in the wild-card round of the playoffs Sunday. Before making his return to Lambeau Field last year, McCarthy openly discussed his time in Green Bay that included a Super Bowl victory in 2010 and a street being named in his honor near the stadium. The Cowboys ended up losing that game, 31-28 in overtime.

How Packers' Aaron Rodgers ended Cowboys' 2016 season

In the 2016 season, Dak Prescott was a rookie quarterback leading the Dallas Cowboys to an NFC-best 13-3 record and home-field advantage in the divisional round of the playoffs when he first experienced postseason heartbreak. On the other sideline that day were the Green Bay Packers, coached by current Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy and quarterbacked by Aaron Rodgers. After an underwhelming start, Prescott rallied the Cowboys to a 31-31 tie with 35 seconds left. The Cowboys host the Packers Sunday at AT&T Stadium (4:30 p.m. ET, Fox) for the ninth time in the playoffs, bringing back fond memories for Dallas fans of three straight playoff wins over Green Bay from 1993 to 1995.

"I mean as a rookie, thought we were just going to go and wipe them off the field, and that didn't happen," said Prescott, who is making his fifth playoff appearance Sunday. "Started off down 21-3, able to come back and make a play, and then just thinking ... 'Oh, that was just a lucky play [by Rodgers].'" Prescott called it "the Michael Jackson catch" with how Cook went up on his toes to make the grab, but he no longer calls it a lucky play. "Eight years later, having Mike as my coach, understanding that was a play that they practiced time and time again -- because we've practiced those situations time and time again. It just shows the importance of practice, of the details, of the communication, being on the same page, what to expect in those crucial moments."

The Cowboys have four players remaining from that game on their 53-man roster: Dak Prescott, Tyron Smith, Zach Martin and DeMarcus Lawrence. The Packers have one: Kenny Clark. They also have three coaches. In addition to McCarthy, the Cowboys have four assistant coaches who were then on the Packers' staff.
