Hamlin battles boos, fields to reach Victory Lane at Pocono
Hamlin passed Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon -- for the second straight year -- for most wins at the tri-oval track. Hamlin and his former Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch had their 1-2 finishes stripped a year ago by NASCAR for aerodynamics violations.

Austin Hill survives restart to win Xfinity race at Pocono
Hill won the season opener at Daytona and added two more early season wins at Las Vegas and Phoenix, but hadn't won over his last 13 races. He seemed like he might have to settle for another solid finish until he caught a break on the final extra two laps.

Chris Buescher wins at Richmond to earn NASCAR playoff spot
Buescher led 88 laps and was ahead by nearly 6 seconds when a caution came out with under 10 laps to go. That erased his lead over Virginia native Denny Hamlin, who was booed by his hometown crowd before the race.

Sam Mayer gets first Xfinity Series victory on home-state track
Mayer pulled ahead for good in the next-to-last lap of a wild second overtime session to win at Road America, about an hour's drive from his hometown of Franklin, Wisconsin. That elusive first victory came in his 72nd Xfinity start.

Max Verstappen beats Sergio Perez, extends win streak to eight

Max Verstappen's march towards a third world championship continued at the Belgian Grand Prix with his 10th win of the season, his eighth in a row and a 22.3-second victory margin over teammate Sergio Perez. Verstappen, who started sixth on the grid Sunday because of a gearbox penalty, was up to third by Lap 6 at Spa-Francorchamps, in second place by Lap 9 and took the lead on lap 17 of 44. Perez, who started behind Charles Leclerc on the front row of the grid, took the lead of the race on the first lap but simply didn't have the pace to hold off Verstappen when his teammate appeared in his mirrors.

NASCAR's Noah Gragson Suspended After Liking George Floyd Meme

Noah Gragson's getting taken out of the driver's seat after liking a meme that mocked George Floyd -- and he's owning up to the fact that he screwed the pooch. The race car driver -- who competes professionally for NASAR's Cup Series -- was suspended indefinitely Saturday by his stock car team, Legacy Motor Club, which announced he was being benched just a day before the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway ... in which Gragson was supposed to participate. That ain't happening now -- Josh Berry is now taking his place. LMC denounced Gragson's social media activity by saying his actions "do not represent the values of our team." As for Gragson himself, he's apologized ... writing, "I am disappointed in myself for my lack of attention and actions on social media. I understand the severity of this situation. I love and appreciate everyone. I try to treat everyone equally no matter who they are. I messed up plain and simple."

Chris Buescher wins at Michigan for second straight NASCAR Cup victory
Chris Buescher has earned half of his four career NASCAR Cup Series victories in a stunning, nine-day stretch of success. Buescher won his second straight NASCAR Cup Series race by holding off points-leader Martin Truex late in the FireKeepers 400 on Monday and is surging with his top performances toward the end of the regular season.

Michael Mcdowell dominates Brickyard 200,secures playoff bid
McDowell inherited the lead on Lap 53 and never trailed again as he drove the most dominant race of his career, beating Chase Elliott to the yard of bricks by 0.937 seconds for his second NASCAR crown jewel victory while securing a playoff spot. Pole-winner Daniel Suarez was third.

TY Gibbs waits out rain to post 'special' win at Brickyard
Gibbs, 20, drove into Victory Lane for the first time this season by outlasting Sam Mayer to the finish line by more than seven seconds and relegating Allmendinger, the defending race champ and pole winner, to third. Gibbs now has 13 career Xfinity wins.

Scott Dixon extends win streak to 19 at Indianapolis GP

The Iceman became the Ironman of IndyCar on Saturday. Capped it off with a win, too. Scott Dixon overcame a first-lap spin and then held off hard-charging Graham Rahal over the final 10 laps to win Saturday's Indianapolis Grand Prix by 0.4779 seconds. Dixon's 54th career win, second in series history, was part of another milestone day. He has won at least one race in 19 consecutive IndyCar seasons, extending his own record, and it came on the day he also broke Tony Kanaaan's previous series mark with his 319th consecutive start.
