denny Hamlin holds off kyle larson to snap cup win at dover
Hamlin wiggled past lapped traffic and never let Larson squeak by him over the final laps in a showdown between two of NASCAR's elite drivers and won the Cup race by about a quarter of a second Sunday at Dover Motor Speedway.

ryan truex goes back-to-backat dover for second nascar victory
Truex went back-to-back at the Monster Mile to give him two wins in 194 career starts over the three national series. The No. 20 Toyota pulled away over the final two laps in a race that went eight laps over its scheduled 200-lap finish.

F1 boss: Calendar to stay at 24 races despite huge interest​


Formula One CEO Stefano Domenicali says the sport's calendar will remain capped at 24 races despite more than 35 new venues showing an interest in hosting an event -- 11 of which he says are serious contenders. New events in Miami, Las Vegas, Saudi Arabia and Qatar in the past four years have seen the F1 calendar reach the sport's self-imposed limit of 24 races. According to ESPN sources, new projects that have shown an interest in joining the F1 calendar exist in South Korea, Thailand, China, South Africa, Rwanda, Malaysia, India, New York and Chicago. Domenicali told ESPN "more than 35" venues had expressed an interest in joining F1, but when asked how many of the 35 were serious contenders, he added: "Eleven -- so, they are all realistic. "No, seriously, the request is very, very big. It is up to us to make the right choices. But the number is set at 24. It will stay 24. Don't forget that five years ago we were at 17 or 18.

Logano started on the pole after posting the fastest time in qualifying on Saturday and was never really challenged. - Kyle Larson finished fourth and came up short in the quest to tie Jimmie Johnson for the most All-Star Race wins with four after starting at the back of the field.

Busch had wrecked Stenhouse on the second lap of the $1 million race Sunday night in a move that looked like retaliation for how Stenhouse had raced him earlier. Stenhouse drove his damaged Chevrolet to Busch's pit stall and parked it, and with no way to get out of the track while the race was going on, stewed in street clothes for hours until Busch arrived at his hauler.
 
charlotte motor speedway to adjust rover for nascar playoff
Charlotte Motor Speedway plans to reconfigure its 17-turn, 2.28-mile "roval" course in time for the Oct. 13 playoff race. The move is designed to provide additional passing opportunities for drivers and force a competitive rethink of what it'll take for teams to conquer the roval, according to track officials.

chase elliott rips nascar for fining but promoting fight
Elliott, speaking ahead of this weekend's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, said he knew Stenhouse had been fined but appeared stunned when informed the amount by a member of the media. It was the largest fine ever handed down for fighting in NASCAR history. Busch was not penalized.

Shane van Gisbergen grabbed the lead coming out of a late caution and held on on the road course just north of downtown Portland on Saturday for his first NASCAR Xfinity Series victory.

austin cindric wins cup series at world wide technology raceway
Austin Cindric emerged as the surprise winner of the NASCAR Cup series race Sunday at World Wide Technology Raceway when teammate Ryan Blaney ran out of gas while leading on the final lap.

Cindric, who had pitted just one lap after Blaney, took advantage of the situation and notched his second career victory. The other came in the 2022 Daytona 500.

Christopher bell wins NASCAR Xfinity Series at New Hamshire
The 29-year-old Bell needed three extra laps on the 1.058-mile track but remained undefeated at New Hampshire in the Xfinity Series and scored another win for Joe Gibbs Racing in the No. 20 Toyota. Bell led 43 of 203 laps and added this checkered flag to his collection of Xfinity wins at New Hampshire in 2018, 2019 and 2021.

Chase Briscoe to join Joe Gibbs, says Christopher Bell
Briscoe, who has one career Cup win and has spent all four seasons with SHR, hoped for an official announcement on his new job in the next week or two. Stewart-Haas Racing, a two-time NASCAR championship team with 69 Cup Series victories since its 2009 formation, announced last month it would close its organization at the end of this season.
