Buffalo Sabres sign coach Don Granato to 2-year extension
Granato, 55, has a 41-55-14 record since taking over as Buffalo's interim coach in March 2021 after Ralph Krueger was fired while the Sabres were in the midst of a franchise-worst 18-game skid.

Philadelphia Flyers extended Travis Sanheim on 8-year, $50M deal
Sanheim, 26, led Flyers defensemen in assists (24), was tied for first in points (31) and second in goals (7) and shots last season. He was selected by Philadelphia 17th overall in the 2014 NHL draft and made his NHL debut in 2017.
 
Vegas foward Phil Kessel sets NHL record for consecutive games
The 35-year-old winger has now appeared in 990 consecutive games, a streak that started Nov. 3, 2009.

Keith Yandle, who retired before the start of the 2022-23 season, extended his streak to 989 games before it ended March 29, 2022. Prior to Yandle, the previous record holder was former Montreal Canadiens forward Doug Jarvis, who appeared in 964 games in a streak that ended Oct. 10, 1987.
