Henrik, Daniel Sedin join former Vancouver Canucks teammate Roberto Luongo in 2022 induction class for Hockey Hall of Fame


The Hockey Hall of Fame welcomed forwards Henrik and Daniel Sedin, forward Daniel Alfredsson and goaltender Roberto Luongo into its 2022 induction class, the Hall announced on Monday. Also included in the class, in the builders' category, were Finnish women's hockey icon Hanna-Riikka Sallinen and Herb Carnegie, a Canadian player of Jamaican descent who starred outside of the NHL. He is honored posthumously, having died in March 2012.

Saint John wins Memorial Cup junior hockey title over Hamilton


Vincent Sevigny and Cam MacDonald scored early, and the host Saint John Sea Dogs won the Memorial Cup, beating the Ontario Hockey League champion Hamilton Bulldogs 6-3 on Wednesday night. Saint John won its second Memorial Cup title in four appearances, rebounding from a first-round loss to Rimouski in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoffs. The Sea Dogs also won in 2011 in Mississauga, Ontario, and lost in the semifinal games in 2012 and 2017. It was another national title for Gardiner MacDougall, a seven-time University Cup champion with the University of New Brunswick, who replaced Gordie Dwyer as interim head coach on May 22.

Vancouver Canucks re-sign Brock Boeser to 3-year with 6.65M average salary
Boeser, 25, is coming off a difficult season, both on and off the ice. He struggled out of the gate under former coach Travis Green but had a second-half resurgence when Bruce Boudreau took over in December. Boeser finished with 23 goals and 46 points in 71 games.

Boughner, 51, had been San Jose's coach for parts of three seasons, amassing a 67-85-23 record and failing to make the Stanley Cup playoffs each time. He previously coached the Florida Panthers for two seasons, taking over when Pete DeBoer was fired after 33 games in the 2019-20 season.

Sakic took over as general manager in September 2014. The Hockey Hall of Famer and former Avalanche star center oversaw a rebuild. - MacFarland just completed his seventh season as the Avalanche's assistant GM.

Montreal Canadians trim salary, sends defenseman Jeff Petry, 34, to Pittsburgh Penguins
Petry is signed for the next three seasons with a $6.25 million salary-cap hit. Montreal did not retain any of his salary in the transaction.
