So any all y'all seen Avatar?

Then after saying it was one of the five worst movies ever you said it was "okay to watch once".

And I didn't say people only hate it because it's popular but that internet people are quick to be overly vocal about how much they hate popular things and the hatred is blown out of proportion.

KI KNOW YOU'RE ALL TALKING SERIOUSLY ABOUT THE MOVIED CALLED AVATAR SO I'M SORRY IF MY EVNE MORE SERIOUS COMMENTS RUIN YIOUR DAY OK, BUT I'M AFRAID I HAVCEN'T SEEN AVATAR YET BECAUSE IT WAS MADE BY 20TH CENTURY FOX WHO ARE OWNED BY NEWS CORP WHIO IS OWNED BY RUPERT MURDOCH WHO OWNS CHINA AND COMUNISM AND WANTS TO OVERTAKE THE WORLD WITH HIS EVFIL COMMUNISM. AVATAR HAS MADE NEWXS CORP $2.2B SINCE IT EAWAS RELEASED AND MURDOCH HAS SPENT IT ALL ON RESEARCH TO TURN OBAMA INTO A KITTEN AND THATR''S NOT FUNNY BECAUSE MURDOCH IS EVIL AND IS IN LEAGUE WITH SATAN AND OWNES THE SUN AS WELL WHICH PUTS LADIES SHOWING THEIR TITTIES ON PAGE THREE WHICH IS EPLOITATION JUST LIKE THE INHABITANTS OF PANDORA. THIS IS NIOT FUNNY. MURDOCH PROBABLY WANTS TO CREATE PANDORA AND RAPE THE UHURA CAT LADY WHILST ALL THE COMMUNISTS WATCH AND APPLAUD AND PROBABLY ALSO GFAVE PUTIN AND THE EVIL RADIOACTIVE POISIN THAT KILLED LIVANENKO YOU EVIL FUCKING BASTARDS.

Can you even read? Allow me to clarify. It was ok once. AT THE TIME I SAW IT. I have no intrest in seeing it again.

OOOH, ARK AT HER GUYS, MUST 'AVE RUN OUT OF HER FAVOURITE SHADE OF LIPSTICK DOWN AT BOOTS, EH, NUDGE NUDGE, WINK WINK?

(I'll stop derailing the thread now).

was ok, bit preachy, ripped off bout half a dozen other films, I still find it difficult to find emotion in CGI characters to be honest....

hard to give a shit i guess... if you're Gf/BF/cat isnt into sci fi it a good place to start

Mmm. After we watched Avatar together my cat took a lot more interest in my "silly Space Wars movies" and even asked if we could watch some scifi themed porn, rather than all those bloody usual safari documentaries with the lions fucking (which quite honestly, I've never taken to - the sex scenes are over before you've even had a chance to get a semi).

In conclusion, I liked Avatar a lot and I don't care if the story was unoriginal or half-baked, because I think of it as an action movie and action movies often have little to no plot and rely solely on their eye candy. And the eye candy in Avatar was as good as it gets.

yeah, I really think movies that are okay when I watch them are amongst the FIVE WORST MOVIES EVER MADE, I'm DIRK DRUNK

Yeah, anyway, your cat sounds nice.

I thought the hate was about the timing. It was released specifically in the Oscars slot.

I can't remember if any of the SW prequels were released in that slot, but I bet you they weren't.

I didn't dislike the film to be trendy, I saw it in 2D and didn't think it was that great.

It will be interesting to see how many people that enjoyed the film find the dvd less enjoyable.

Just saw Avatar, I thought it was beautiful! Went to Cinebistro and had some fish tacos while sitting in a big comfy chair. Definitely worth watching again someday.

I didn't mind the Dances with Wolves story, lol.. the love story was sweet.

I STILL FEEL THE SAME WAY. TBH, I didn't pay that much attention to the plot during the movie, and the only thing I didn't like was the super evil military guy (sorry WACKY). The theater I saw the movie in was super fancy, and I was in the balcony so it was like sitting in front of a really gigantic high def TV. No looking up at the screen, I was looking straight forward at it, so the CGI and the 3D was pretty amazing. I would love to watch it again in that same awesome theater. I don't really care about seeing it again any other way.

I did participate in some online Avatar bashing after seeing the movie. The plot is laughable.. BUT I always let whoever I was discussing the movie with know that I enjoyed the experience regardless of the terrible story. (i KNOW I CONTRADICTED MYSELF A LITTLE HERE)

I was OK with him until he jumped into the mech suit and pulled a GIANT KNIFE.

Yeah, a mech with a giant knife was like something out of an animé. That character was way over done, but then so was Giovanni Ribisi's. It irked me that they made the antagonists so plainly and one-dimensionally EVIL and I really didn't understand why they did that. But then none of the characterisation was very good.

I watched Avatar again tonight. I had only seen it in the movie theatre with the 3-D on. Some asked, "Why would you want to watch it again when its not in 3-D?"

Well I wanted to see if I still liked it without the 3-D and I do.

Yes the story and characters are a little weak, the scenery is still very pretty to look at. Who cares if its all hippy, mother earthy and environmental? Is that so bad? It is a sad story in a way. People died and didn't have to for greed.

Anyway, thats all.

Oh except-am I the only one that thinks 3-D should be available in my home theatre? I don't understand why that is not an option. (or is it and I just don't know about it?)

It weird how I got so angry at Dirk in defense of Avatar!

I got 6 out of 10 but was disappointed there was no question about Sigourney Weaver turning into a tree.

I'm shocked I wasn't all up in this thread acting like a dick. Guess I was saving my energy up for Prometheus.

I couldn't identify Sam Worthington in that quiz.

lol I love it when I go off on one of my rants and I think I'm being all brilliant, but to everyone else it reads like one of Peter Griffin's "You Know What Really Grinds My Gears?"

THANK YOU FOR STILL LIKING ME.
