Spartacus Vengeance

Why do people make fake accounts? And why fake accounts for actors who aren't even going to have very big fanbases?

I think they do it for the lulz. That fake account got over a thousand followers, including the other actors on the show, in about 30 minutes.

I thought last night's episode seemed a bit crammed together. Like they're were trying to hurry up and establish some things, so they could get on to the next bit OR SOMETHING.

Gannicus is hot, but he shouldn't talk so much. Just stand there an look pretty, k? Mira learned the bow awfully fast. I guess some people could have a natural talent for it and pick it up quickly. It does make a lot more sense for the women rebels to be archers than hand to hand fighters, so I'm glad they're going in that direction. She made a great flying squirrel attack last week, though!

I was really surprised when Ashur raped Lucretia! Never saw that coming. I can't help but have sympathy for the character, but at the same time, she now knows what it was like (just a little bit) to be a slave in the house of Batiatus.

Loved the Crixus and Naevia scenes. Manu is really doing a great job this season. He must have taken some acting classes! Also, he seems a lot more attractive now than he did in season 1. All that crazy face acting made him uggo. Or maybe he's laying off the steroids a bit.

Also digging the new relationship between Lucretia and Ilythia. I wonder how they will react when they find out what Glaber has done, and what they'll do to that girl, now that Glaber has his eye on her.

I was not expecting that last scene. I thought he would at least wait to see if Sepia could change her brother's mind. She'll off herself now tha he's gone. No more incest for you!!

Ashur is a twatter and needs to die a horrible death.

And I'm with Cassie -- Love the new chemistry with Lucretia and Ilythia.

KILL LIKE AN EGYPTIAN

I could watch this show aalllll day. It just looks so good and it's so bloody entertaining! I'm almost jealous of those people who are going to wait til it comes out on dvd and watch the whole season boxset over a weekend.

Anyway, I agree this seemed more setuppy than usual. It was kind of like they were tying up loose ends and clearing away some characters they didn't need, so they could establish the final lineup of good vs bad for the rest of the season. It still had a fair share of standout moments, though.

I thought the fight in the lightning looked especially good, even if the rain started falling at the exact moment they started fighting, which was one stylistic touch too many, really.

I'm surprised Gannicus didn't stick around, considering he's lost his sword thingy (I think he called it a "rudus"?). I mean, you'd think a celebrity wouldn't really need to carry ID around with them, but there you go... I wonder if Glaba having the sword (which is really a bit like a passport... or pass sword... password...?) means Gannicus will join him, or if Ganny will do what we all hope and go back to Sparty.

Ashur looks really different without his beard. I barely recognised him at first.

Yup, very difficult to know whether to feel sorry for Lucretia or not. They're all kind of victims of the world they were born into, but they're still responsible for their actions. I dunno, I mean, she already lost her child and husband, so maybe that was payback enough already.

I'm sad there'll be no more Seppius. I was rather fond... :(

I forgot to mention that the serpent bracelet Ashur look is obviously going to be discovered by Seppia and it was a bit too obvious.

OH yeah, I was thinking WTF when he took that bracelet. Surely someone as devious as Ashur wouldn't be so stupid. Maybe this will be the way Lucretia gets back on top.

I thought he was likely grabbing it as blackmail/framing material for later. if anyone is found in possession of the serpent bracelet it won't be Ashur.

Yeah, that must be why he was taking it, but knowing this show it'll get discovered when even Ashur least expects it.

Crixus is a Xena alum, and even from the one episode, he overacted, especially in the fighting scenes. You can hear Lucy Lawless talking about it with Renee on the commentary. Definitely come a long way.

The snake bracelet was just screaming obvious, but I'll forgive them for that.

OOOOH... so Ashur has a little box of treasures in his room. Lucretia will GET HIM. She's much smarter than he is. Creepy, totally didn't expect that Ashur would keep on raping Lucretia after the first time. I'm surprised she hasn't stuck a knife in him, or poisoned him somehow. SOMETHING.

I wonder what Gannicus is going to do with Ilythia. Maybe Glaber will try to trade for her or something... well he probably doesn't give a shit what happens to her, but he can't let Gannicus get away with that. Maybe he'll crucify all the slaves!

THE MOUNTAIN THAT RIDES LOST HIS FACE! lol All the scenes with the Germans were kinda cheesy.

Yeah, the Germans are a very cheesy addition, and one of them (the first one to pledge allegiance to Sparty at the end) had a Russian accent!

I'm glad Agron confirmed that he doesn't have a beef with Sparty, though. It was starting to look like he'd become such a problem for the group that he'd end up getting offed.

When he has a beard Crixus just looks like a drugged up hobo. Doesn't help that Naevia now has eyes like saucers as well.

Nasir shouting "RRAAAAAARRR" and jumping around when he still has a massive wound was ridiculous, even if his man was getting beaten up.

That was really quite a face-off at the end there. Probably the most gruesome death we've seen since Gannicus broke that guy's jaw off in the scenes they flashbacked to this week.

Hmm. Ganny abducting Ilythia was certainly unexpected... but mostly because it's really, really hard to figure out what his motivation could possibly be. It's not like Glaber's going to leave him alone now. Maybe Ganny will take Ilythia to Sparty's compound so she can be a human shield against any direct assaults from Glaber's men?

This episode seemed all over the place, and was one of the cheesiest ever. Perhaps due to the Gussians (German Russians), or the sheer look of crazy on Glaber's face.

I wish that Gannicus would have realized that Lucretia wasn't threatening him, but warning him. I feel like she's really trying to get her and Ilythia out of a bad situation, but because of her past EVIL DEEDS, it's kinda like crying wolf, and everyone is going to assume she's manipulating them still. True, she might be playing us all.

Gannicus and the Egyptian will be a fight. I can see that coming.

Naevia almost getting raped AGAIN. Now she's going to crawl all back into herself. She seems useless this season.

Mmm, one of the less memorable episodes, certainly, but thankfully still had quite a lot to enjoy.

Onny's face when the tits appeared next to him was priceless.

This was one ep where I preferred seeing what the Romans were up to, especially Lucretia. Hopefully, now that they've got past the Germans joining, it will all be interesting again.

Still a bit on the cheesy side! Hope they get out of that soon.

SPARTY IS THE BABY DADDY!

I hear Xena music....

I thought Ganni was a goner in this episode. All that talk about taking a sword for a brother, urging Doctore to kill and everything. Better to have seen him and the kill like an Egyptian dude fighting.

Ashur's gone psycho for Lucretia.

Don't worry about Gannicus dying! Well, if they stick to the history Gannicus, Crixus and Doctore will live on for awhile. Crixus and Doctore do eventually kick the bucket in battle, but I don't think Gannicus dies before they do.

Another wobbly episode IMO.

Glaber choosing to kill Sparty rather than save his wife was a good and believable twist (well, I considered it a 'twist', others might've just guessed he wouldn't care about her now he has a younger model that can... get his attention).

I liked that we got to find out a little about the old guy before he died. I don't think they ever really said before why he joined the gang, except that he hated Rome.

Kind of feeling sorry for Ilithya being left all alone in the woods (and did she ever get that water she asked for?! We may never know!), but it's important to remember that she's evil.

The Egyptian guy was BIGTIME cool with the arrows stuck in him. He should totally keep that look.

Did anyone else realise that the prostitute Ganny had been shagging was one of the ones who got crucified last week? Maybe I just wasn't paying attention, but until they mentioned it in this episode I had no idea. I thought he switched sides just out of general disgust at the Romans' behaviour toward slaves, not because he'd been staring up at a woman he knew.

What's Sepia gonna do? They can't really kill off Glaber, can they? Maybe he'll convince her Ashur was working alone?

Yeah, Gannicus was looking up at the hooker on the cross when Lucretia found him and asked him to kill Glaber.

ALSO, Sepia contacts whatshisface (the one Ilithya was gonna leave Glaber for) and he comes back to Capua next week.
