Star Wars: Rebels

I really liked that episode (yeah Yoda looked really strange). I really like Ahsoka Tano and it's good when they let her do things. It was really good to hear Matt Lanter as Anakin again. I really hope they eveually tell how Ahsoka saw Anakin either just before or during Episode III. I really don't want Ahsoka Tano to die but, well...

MY CLONE WARS FEELS

In this week's Rebel's Recon they talk about everyything and Andi is very excited about it all AS SHE SHOULD BE.

They need to do a Clone Wars mini series to tie up all the loose ends with the original animation AND GEORGE LUCAS BACK AS PRODUCER. Well I'd like them to anyway.
 
It was really weird to do a whole episode about Chopper going to the dentist. I mean I liked it (the scene where he slaughtered everyone in the waiting room was shockingly dark), but they never even explained why a droid had to go to the dentist or why Hera smiled at the end despite the fact that Chopper never even saw a (living) dentist. Weird.
 
...well, at least we won't get four episodes of that like on Clone Wars that time. It wasn't as bad as the one in the desert anyway. And of course it's annoying to go from the super serious cliffhanger last time to everyone making lame jokes with no sense of urgency.

I mean I get what they were trying to do, I like droid friendships, but the new droid's voice acting was really annoying (like a really bad Alan Rickman Marvin rip-off) and he spent most of the episode just repeating everything Chopper said. In an annoying voice. Then when he we finally get a sad moment with him sacrificing himself...three seconds later he's alive agian and perfectly fine.

I thought maybe we'd find out more about Hera and Chopper's relationship but...I guess she just hates him like everyone else does?

What was with Sabine's friend showing up for literally half a second? I had to go back and see who it was.
 
I liked this episode. I liked the other droid. SO THERE.

See, this was much better. Still a standalone but it actually felt substational. Everyone got stuff to do and good character moments (usually half the characters sit each episode out.) I still would have liked more Ahsoka this season considering next week's the finale and everyone thinks shesa gonna die, but whatevs.
 
Yeah! It was much better! Everyone got cool stuff to do (especially Sabine!) and there was still a good emotional story through the whole thing. I liked it!.

On this week's Rebel's Recon they basically confirm that we won't see Hera, Sabine or Zeb again this season, and that the finale is 100% Jedi stuff. Which hopefully means lots of Ahsoka WHO SURVIVES THE EPISODE AND HUGS SABINE OKAY.

STOP PLAYING WITH MY FEELINGS DAVE FILONI.

I get why he handled this way, ambiguously - Ahsoka has a lot of fans, many of them younger girls, and definitively taking away one of the few role models they actually have in Star Wars would be a bad thing. But of course it's not like she can win against Vader, so the obvious answer is to leave it open ended. And they did that in basically the best way they possibly good, that worked well with the characters (hearing Anakin's proper voice after Ahsoka broke his mask was an amazing touch).

But MAN sometimes I just want some closure! Especially if Dave Filoni is saying that, even if she is alive, we probably won't see her on Rebels again.

So yeah, apart from that (AND I DID THINK THEY DID THAT REALLY WELL DON'T THINK I DON'T LIKE IT OR AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT AHSOKA MAYBE BEING ALIVE BECAUSE LET ME TELL YOU I FUCKING LOVE AHSOKA TANO) the rest of the episode was really good! Darth Maul was there and was still an asshole, but a good one, sort of? Kanan got blinded! Ezra is still really fucking dumb!

The worst thing, the only part I didn't really like, were the Inquisitors flying with their helicopter lightsabers. That was goofy.

WHY DID ANAKIN HAVE EYEBROWS? RUINED THE WHOLE THING (not really.)

Yeah it was really good. I still wish they'd spent more time with Ahsoka throughout the season, knowing that this was probably her last episode.

Is Kanan going to get robot eyes now?

The Inquisitors suddenly being able to fly like helicopters was pretty distracting. At least they're all dead now!

Darth Maul sure loves the double-bladed lightsabers. Ezra's prett fucking dumb if he thinks he can trust a red guy with HORNS named Maul.

Ahsoka's definitely alive and getting her own movie okay!
 
Oh also we're getting an Ahsoka novel that's set between Clone Wars and Rebels.

Did Maul pinch Vader's tie, or was it the one Chooper was flying earlier?

I guess we were denied a Maul/Vader fight, but who knows, maybe next season?

Maybe this time Vader will split him vertically, and see if he can come back from that.
