Stargate Universe

Next ep looks good, if a little Voyagerish. C'mon, we know they won't get home this early, so there's not much point dangling the carrot.

Well, later in the season
one of the FTL drives explodes
. That could be due to the plan proposed in the next ep. Also WTF does LDP have against Young?

I really can't stand LDP's character on the show. There's no reason for Telford to take command away from Young, especially since he's not on the fucking ship! How long can they stay switched through those stone thingies? It still doesn't make sense that they're not allowing a scientist familiar with ancient tech to come aboard to help figure out the ships systems.

Someone said (was it on here?) that Daniel Jackson will be in a couple of later episodes. One will be in a flashback, but another might be a visit to Destiny.

I don't get what LDP's character has against Young either. Maybe he's jealous and sick of sitting at that desk waiting for someone to use the stones?

Maybe LDP is the traitor within who gave the location of the base to whoever that was that attacked them in the first episode, but he'll frame Rush because everyone hates him.

I wonder if I'm the only person who thought this one was borderline shit.. had some good moments, like when the body switch flickered, but for the most part it just seemed like a waste. The politics just don't make sense, I'm tired of not knowing if Rush is good or bad, and the ending was really bad, so bad it was almost comical.

There is no point having Lou Diamond Phillips on this show.. none at all. He doesn't add anything, and he's kinda shit as an actor. If they're going to have people like him on the show we need some background. I still don't understand what he has up his ass. I get it that Young didn't want to be on this mission, but he's there, he's doing his job, there's no need to replace him with Telford.

It was very patchy. I quite liked the stuff with Young and Telford, but found the thing about them all going home rather pointless. The conclusion to it was a pretty weak, too. I did like the bit at the end with Telford beginning a weird affair with Young's wife, even if it's a bit soap opera-ish.

RDA was possibly even more bloated than in the pilot.

Might as well, she's pretty hot and I can't imagine him turning down an opportunity to get back at Young... for whatever problem he has with him. Was Telford supposed to be in command of the mission? Is that all it is?

Btw, I liked that Eli told everyone his name was Philip Fry, from Futurama.

I kept wondering why that name was so familiar!

I think there must be more than just Young being there when it was supposed to be Telford. I'm sure they'll tell us eventually, the bastards.

OH, you watch Sanctuary sometimes don't you? Last night's was the best one ever, IMO.

I've only seen the webisodes so far. They don't show it on any tv channels I get and I've never got around to downloading. I found the webisodes a bit of a mixed bag. They were strangely slow and dull sometimes, considering they were so short. And the acting could be a bit stiff. I'll give it a go if it comes on tv sometime though.

The people on the SGU IMDb board are getting on my tits. 9 out of 10 posts are complaining about the amount of sex in the show. There've been maybe 3 sex scenes in 7 episodes, and the one in the pilot wasn't even a 'scene', it was a split second thing. I really don't get why these posters are getting their knickers in such a twist over it. Sex happens!

The sex scenes in this episode were the best part! Can you imagine trading bodies with someone only to flash back to your own and find yourself in a hot chick? lol

Yeah, totally! I liked that they were doing something really out there and fresh. I've never seen anyone body swap during sex before. Telford's expression was priceless! I think the exploration of what it's like to swap bodies with someone was what saved this episode. Usually when this happens in scifi they crack a couple of jokes about it ("point it like a gun!"), but for the most part, they get on with what they have to do, but here they looked at the psychological side of things a little more.

Seems like they'd have some rules about what you could use the other person's body for.. but if Telford and Young are enemies then maybe Young just didn't give a shit. BUT.. I think it would be really weird to have sex like that, especially for the guy. Would you ever be able to shake the feeling that your woman cheated on you, even though you were using the other guy's body?

This one was a bit boring. Chloe is just annoying, really. I liked the scene with Eli and his mum and the part where Young and Telford swapped places during sex. But meh otherwise.

I thought when Chloe was drunk she might have let Eli grope her tits because she knows its not really her body.

Shes a hypocrit though, hating her gf for sleeping with her bf, when she was banging army dude practically from the moment they got to destiny
