The Walking Dead season 2

So I thought that was a pretty good episode. The action stuff with both human and zombie opponents was well done. Some of the character stuff in the second half was still a bit tedious, but some of it works (the Shane stuff.) Lori trying to be all seductive at the end was hilarious. I don't think things are going to end well for blond girl (the clue is that she's only had about four lines so far.)

Hey look at that they put zombies in the TV show about zombies and it got good!

Also I liked how Lori got in a major car accident (WHILE PREGNANT) and then blows it off like no big thing.

She did have a massive bruise on her stomach, though, so she's probably still lost the baby.

Anyway, at LAST a proper good episode like we've been crying out for.

The zombie that attacked Lori in the car sheering the skin off of its face as it tried to get through the glass was great.

I loved Herschel's use of the term "put him down", as if that kid was a horse.

For a second there, I thought Dale actually thought Shane had made the right decision about lying to Lori.

"Let's name the baby that'll probably die after that girl that died!"

Um. There were other good things? I can't remember now, but it really was a big improvement. They could've easily made this the mid-season premiere (or whatever stupid term American networks have for the first new episode after a lengthy, ill-considered break in a weekly serial drama). I mean, it might not have given Herschel a realistic amount of time to work through his thoughts on Shane's actions, but they could've figured that out. Surely better to slightly rush things, than to have your first episode back be deathly boring.

SO this week's episode was pretty decent. Rick and Shane had some good scenes and killed lots of zombies in an entertaining fashion. Andrea took a "LET SUICIDAL PEOPLE DIE" stance. And Lori is really really thin but supposed to be pregnant!

But by the end I don't think the plot had really moved forward at all? I doubt Shane's suddenly going to stop being crazy now.

What's more than a little disturbing is the number of times I see myself agreeing with Shane and Andrea when I am not supposed to lol. I'm getting very sick of looking at Dale's incredulous open-mouth stare, and when Shane went back to yell at him I was saying, Yeah! Gobsmack that old busybody!" Then Lori with her "We should do all the dishes because we have tits and standing watch is man's work" if I was Andrea I would have gone ahead and shot her. I hope a fucking zombie eats Lori. If I'm in zombieland I want a woman who can take sentry duty sometimes, and I'll heat my own damn pork and beans.

Lori is really really thin but supposed to be pregnant!

Thin, pregnant, and can lever a hefty wooden door open with a poker.

Anyway, good episode. I liked all the Rick/Shane dialogue and talk about good cop/bad cop when they were arguing over whether to kill Randall. I don't find their reactions to him very believable, though. Well, ok, maybe Shane. But the rest of the group knew about him and not one of them said "hey, we saved his life, maybe it's worth keeping him around to see if we can trust him"? I know they have good reason to be cautious, but one more surprisingly able bodied person wouldn't be bad to have around.

I liked Andrea, but she's gotta get over the fact that she didn't blow up and now she's doing reverse psychology on the girl who wanted to kill herself. Maggie should have slapped the shit out of her.

Still like her better than Lori though.

Rick should have left Shane, because after all that talk and saving his life, Shane would have left his ass. And then you see him in cahoots with Andrea AGAIN about not letting Rick lead them anymore.

No Glen? :(

Or Darryl? :( :(

That's three episodes now when he hasn't had a line! Does anyone have confirmation that he's been seen onscreen?

He was there for a minute this week, doing a facepalm at some of Shane's antics. But no real action. I think he's zombiefood.

So, Dale died. He didn't die like that in the comic. I was surprised he went so early since he was a pretty major character. But I guess there wasn't much left to his character but saying "this is wrong!" all the time. Still, who's going to be the voice of reason now? Pretty gruesome death too.

So Carl's a cock, isn't he? The part where he was saying "do it dad, kill him" wasn't very convincing and was pretty poorly acted. They should have developed his character more in previous episodes to bring him to this point. Why didn't he fucking tell someone about the swamp zombie? Cock.

At least with Dale dead, T-Dog might get more screentime.
