WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT FOR BREAKFAST??

While hot, Grits are normally very tasty..

..except when your spouse threatens to splash them on you for trying to make love to her while shes trying to cook

Then they start to lose their appeal

so do I :) The ricy equivalent of Bubble and Squeak.

@ Cassie: thanks for the link! We have something very similar here only we use semolina and usually cook it in milk with a little lemon peel. Cut in slices, breaded and fried it makes an awesome dessert or sweet lunch, served with cinnamon and sugar and compote.

Weekday: One egg, fried with salsa after I flip it, put the egg in a warm tortilla (corn usually), and a big cup of chai Tea with whole milk.

Weekends I get corned beef hash and hash-browns (sometimes with an egg too). Depends on how much time I have to cook. I've been known to do an avocado and Jack cheese omelet from time to time too.

And, being in the bay area, there is the World's most fantastic sourdough bread for toast!!!. So I eat that a lot too.

Just to contribute: Grits are fantastic if done right. No sugar needed.

Anyone who thinks grits are even remotely similar to cornflakes is an idiot.

@Consumer: Tortilla and chai is a rather international combination, I daresay ;)
Do you make the chai yourself or do you buy a mix?

When I have plenty of time, I make my own chai from scratch. It gets a little different every time, but it's always good (as long as I don't accidentially fill it in a thermos flask again that previousely held peppermint tea...)

Where do you get the sourdough bread? We have excellent one over here in Bavaria, but I haven't managed to find a good one in the US.
