Carolina Panthers News
Panthers gain an equivalent of an extra 5th-round pick in second-round draft pick deal with the Bears. The picks Carolina received were worth 23% more than what it gave up. But in Teven Jenkins, Bears get a player the Draft Day Predictor thought had an 85% chance to be selected in Round 1.
The Carolina Panthers 2021 draft class after two rounds: 1.(8) CB Jaycee Horn, South Carolina; 2. (59) WR Terrace Marshall Jr., LSU; 3. (70) OT Brady Christensen, BYU; 3. (83) TE Tommy Tremble, Notre Dame. Remaining picks: 4 - 109; 5 - 158; 6 - 193, 204, 222.
Matt Rhule is the first head coach in the Common Draft Era (since 1967) to use his first eight career draft picks on defense.
The Panthers have two picks tonight -- 39 (2nd), 73 (3rd) -- as the NFL draft continues. A few players at position of need to keep an eye on: OT Teven Jenkins, Oklahoma State; OT Liam Eichenburg, Notre Dame; OT Dillon Randunz, N.Dakota State; WR Elijah Moore, Ole Miss; WR Terrace Marshall, Jr., LSU; TE Hunter Long, Boston College; DT Christian Barmore, Alabama; C Landon Dickerson, Alabama. Wouldn't totally rule out North Carolina RB Javonte Williams even though there are bigger needs.
