Week 3

Henry rushes for 151 yards, 2 TDs as Ravens hang on to beat Cowboys 28-25

Baltimore: 1 - 2

The Ravens (1-2) scored touchdowns on their first two drives. Baltimore was a play away from having to give the ball back to the Cowboys (1-2) leading by just three when Jackson had a clutch completion to Zay Flowers. The Ravens, coming off a trip to the AFC championship game in which they lost to Super Bowl champion Kansas City, were 0-2 for the first time since 2015.

Dallas: 1 - 2

The Cowboys have allowed 120 points in their past three home games, including a 48-32 wild-card loss to Green Bay in January that ended Dallas' 16-game winning streak at AT&T Stadium. Just as in last week's 44-19 loss to New Orleans, the Cowboys needed more than field goals because of their porous defense.

NFL Week 4 Power Rankings: How all 32 teams stack up
After three weeks of play, we are slowly getting an idea of how each team stacks up in our Power Rankings.

**********
No.16: Dallas
Per NFL Next Gen Stats, the Cowboys have picked up minus-74 rushing yards over expectation through three games, which is third worst in the NFL behind Chicago and Miami. In addition to the lack of attempts, the Cowboys' rushing game hasn't established any rhythm.

Jerry Jones: 'Very fair' to blame me for Cowboys' 1-2 start

Who's to blame for the Dallas Cowboys' 1-2 start? According to a poll from WFAA-TV in Dallas, the answer is pretty clear among more than 70% of the voters: owner and general manager Jerry Jones. Jones has taken the brunt of the criticism when things have gone poorly for the Cowboys since becoming the owner and general manager in 1989. Since the playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers in January, fan frustration has been high, with the Super Bowl drought now at 28 seasons. In the Cowboys' first two home games, against the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens , the fans of those teams came in large numbers and drowned out Cowboys fans.

The Cowboys' struggles have come in areas of concern entering the season: the interior of the defensive line and the running game. The Cowboys are last in run defense through three games, allowing 185.7 yards per game. They have allowed 464 rushing yards in their past two games. The Cowboys' running game is ranked 30th, averaging 73.7 yards per game, and their longest run of the season is a 12-yard gain by wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. The last time the Cowboys started 1-3 came in 2020, Mike McCarthy's first season as coach. They finished 6-10. Jones, however, stopped short of calling Thursday's game against the New York Giants a must-win.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb sorry for performance, attitude in loss

The Dallas Cowboys are on a short week heading into Thursday night's game at the New York Giants, but there has been a lot to unpack over the past few days with back-to-back defeats. All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb did not talk to reporters after Sunday's home loss to the Baltimore Ravens, a game in which he lost a fumble and dropped a pass and had what looked to be a sideline spat with quarterback Dak Prescott. On Tuesday, he was apologetic for his performance and how he handled himself on the sideline, saying he played "a big part" in Sunday's defeat. He also acknowledged his body language and attitude didn't "help the situation or the outcome of the game."

Sources: Cowboys' Parsons, Lawrence dealing with sprains

When the Dallas Cowboys play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 6, they could be without their top two defensive linemen. An MRI on Friday confirmed edge rusher Micah Parsons suffered a high left ankle sprain in the fourth quarter of the Cowboys' 20-15 win against the New York Giants on Thursday, while defensive end DeMarcus suffered a right midfoot sprain that will keep him out for multiple weeks, according to sources. It's a major blow to a defense that struggled against the run in losses to the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens but gave up just 26 yards on 24 carried against the Giants.

Parsons has missed just one game in his career (2021, COVID). Lawrence had played in 38 straight games. Parsons and Lawrence are the Cowboys' top two pass rushers. Lawrence leads the Cowboys with three sacks this season and Parsons has recorded at least 13 sacks in each of his first three seasons.

Week 4

Dak Prescott throws 2 TD passes and Cowboys win 7th straight over Giants, 20-15

DALLAS: 2 - 2

There was a sense of relief in a somewhat subdued Dallas Cowboys locker room after a hard-fought victory over the New York Giants. There was little celebration. The two-game losing streak was over and those who have been criticizing Dallas (2-2) and coach Mike McCarthy and predicting a disappointing season had been quieted for one night. The Cowboys were back to being the Cowboys, a good offense and a solid defense.

NEW YORK GIANTS: 1 - 3

Greg Joseph made field goals of 52, 41, 38, 22 and 42 for the Giants (1-3), who controlled the ball for 35:37 but failed to score a touchdown at home for the second straight game. They had two field goals in a 28-6 loss to Minnesota in their opener. What hurt New York was its inability to run against the league's worst rush defense. Dallas been giving up an average of 185.7 yards, but it held the Giants to 26 yards on 24 carries, a 1.1-yard average.

Cowboys preparing to play without injured Micah Parsons
Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons has not missed a game due to injury at any level of football, but it's looking more likely that he'll miss his first on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers because of a high left ankle sprain...The Cowboys also will be without their other top pass rusher, DeMarcus Lawrence, who is dealing with a Lisfranc injury in his right foot.

Week 5

Prescott throws TD pass to Tolbert with 20 seconds left to lift Cowboys past Steelers, 20-17

DALLAS: 3 - 2

Dowdle provided the league's worst rushing attack with a boost by running for 87 yards. He also added a sliding 22-yard touchdown reception on the third play of the fourth quarter to cap a 16-play, 90-yard drive that put Dallas 13-10. The Cowboys let multiple chances to create some early breathing room slip away thanks to miscues by Prescott, who fumbled while getting sacked by T.J. Watt and Nick Herbig to end one drive deep in Pittsburgh territory in the first quarter.

PITTSBURGH: 3 - 2

Pittsburgh dropped its second consecutive game following a 3-0 start, this one a lethargic performance — particularly on offense — on a night the opening kickoff was delayed nearly 90 minutes due to severe weather. The sky eventually cleared. The Steelers spent much of the night in a fog, particularly on offense, managing just 226 yards against a defense missing injured stars Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence.

Week 6

Jared Goff throws 3 TD passes, Lions win 47-9 and hand Cowboys another lopsided home loss

DETROIT: 4 - 1

Detroit led 27-6 at the break, putting the combined total of the Dallas halftime deficit at AT&T Stadium at 110-35 going back to a wild-card playoff loss to Green Bay in January. Facing a Dallas defense missing its two pass rushers, including two-time All-Pro Micah Parsons, and a starting linebacker and cornerback, Goff finished 18 of 25 without an interception. He is just the second QB with a passer rating of at least 150 in back-to-back starts; Drew Brees was the other in 2018.

DALLAS: 3 - 3

Dak Prescott threw two interceptions in the worst home loss since 1988 for the Cowboys (3-3), who became the first team since at least 2000 to trail by 14 or more more points at halftime in four consecutive games on their home field. Dallas is 0-3 at home and 3-0 on the road. The current skid followed a 16-game home winning streak that was second-longest in franchise history, and the 167 points allowed by Dallas are the third most in a four-game home stretch in NFL history.
