Hehe. I'm glad the episode started with Arthur watching Gwen in the forest, rather than wasting time with the usual scenes of Merlin trying to convince everyone.
I know it's not worth analysing the details, but it Merlin shouldn't have needed the black dress to become the old lady, because we've seen him change into the old man without having the character's red cloak. Clothing has always been treated as part of the magical transformation.
Colin Morgan really gets into those scenes doesn't he? He's very good, though. It's nice to see an actor enjoying themselves, especially when most other weeks they're repeating stuff they've done a million times before.
Gwen's boobs were ridiculously pushed up this week. You'd think the actress would have had enough of it by now. I know there's a tradition of these shows having "something for the dads" but it's just comical now (and anyway, isn't Morgana enough?).
If anything, it seems like Merlin's attitude problem will make Mordred turn to the dark side.
When he laughs sometimes he looks just like an anime character, but he is really nice and a very good actor. I often have to remind myself that he's doing all this while putting on an English accent, as in real life he has quite a strong Irish accent.
If Morgana can snap someone's neck with her eyes why doesn't she just hide in some bushes when Arthur is having one of his many picnics and kill him that way?
It was quite a disturbing episode really with the neck snapping, old woman stabbing herself and faceless man.
Of course Morgana doesn't discover Merlin's identity even though there's only three more episodes EVER after this.
Didn't Merlin already know everything in the note in that box?
Good Asshole Dragon scene and I'm sad he's going to die.
Yeah I was expecting something more than a wiki'd bit of the Arthurian legend. Overall the episode didn't achieve anything at all.
I liked it when Morgana Brazilian slapped the bald guy.
I don't think she can snap necks at will. It only worked because he was chained up. She did her usual Power Rangers throw of someone into the air, but because he was chained it broke his neck.
Gwen's boobs looked much more natural this week, possibly because the Druid woman used magic to siphon off some of her cup size to augment her own.
SO this was a good episode. The acting was really strong all round, especially from Mordred. Of course the episode also made Mordred look pretty stupid. But at least his turn to evil was more believable than Morgana's (and I suspect he'll redeem himself in the end.)
The girl deserved to die really though. I mean she was part of the attack on the Camelot people (I presume?), she tried to kill Arthur when he was helping her and she killed that guard for no reason. So it's not like Mordred can say "YOU KILLED AN INNOCENT DRUID, YOU RACIST!"
The scene where Mordred was about to use his magic and was then suddenly knocked out by bare arms guy was very well done and the final scene with Morgana was SIZZLING.
Yeah it was very well acted and you couldn't tell how it'd all turn out.
I can't help feeling that if Merlin had been less of a dick at some point Mordred wouldn't have turned like he did. Merlin's been a dick to Mordred ever since that stupid prophesy.
I didn't get why Mordred didn't use his powers to escape the cell before thingy was executed. I suppose his magic isn't as strong as merlin's but you'd think he'd still be able to make a lock snap or steal the keys somehow.
Wow, finally someone knows the truth, with only two episodes left? Oh well, next week's should be good!
