SO these new episodes are technically still the same series as last year's and the next series won't start until 2014 so we've basically just had one series split over 2012 and 2013?
I SUPPOSE it's better than that year it was just specials and one of them was that episode with Michelle Ryan on a bus.
Oh great... I don't care if I sound like a curmudgeon, but that will suck. 3D on tv using red/blue frames sucks, even with HD tvs. It doesn't add to the viewing experience at all, and some people can't even see using it.
MAYBE if we're lucky they'll have a standard version on the red button so we don't have to be subjected to it.
To be fair, the 30th anniversary special was in 3D as well.
I'd imagine it won't be red/blue 3D (because that's outdated) but the more modern type, and only viewable as such on 3DTVs. Like how last year's Queens Speech was broadcast in 3D.
I have heard rumours that BBC1 will show the regular 2D version, but the BBCHD channel will show the 3D.
Any glasses that use red or green will not work with my colour blindness, and any other will have to fit over my regular glasses, otherwise I will be watching in blurovision.
When they did The Queen's Speech it was 2D on normal BBC1 (as the 3D doesn't work over an SD signal, I believe) and 3D on BBC1HD. It's all moot anyway as it'll be out on 2D DVD and Blu-Ray.
I'm glad I've finally watched enough Doctor Who to get it. I remember when I first started watching it all seemed kind of confusing. I AM EXCITED FOR THE NEW SEASON.
