Doctor Who Series 7: There Will Be Daleks

I suppose it's good that they're not overlooking it by having every living Doctor actor back, but I would've preferred to see someone else. Not just brcause I'm no big Tennant fan, but because his Doctor is quite similar to #11. I can see them getting on very well, but there wont be much contrast between them. I'd rather see how a rather sober Christopher Ecclestone or logical McGann would interact with Matt Smith.

True, I should've added that. I mostly want to see Paul McGann (...and Sheridan Smith) myself. He's just so good in the radio shows.

I guess having the Zygons there will be the only clue that Doctor Who existed before 2005 in the 50th anniversary "special"

When they said it was going to be the II Doctors I didn't think it was going to be in roman numerals.

Oh come on, you're just purposely trying to have the opposite opinion of Tomtrek now. There's no way you thought that was the worst episode ever compared with the Peter Kay episode, that episode with Katherine Tate running in slow motion, the "it's a woman from Eastenders!" episode, Daleks In New York, the Master jumping around eating chicken episode, the 2011 Christmas special, the James Corden episodes and not to mention the many many shit episodes from the original series (there was one with Bertie Bassett? One where Thatchter guest starred as herself and warned the Doctor to stay away from gypsies as they spread HIV?)

It was a fine if unspectacular episode. Looked nice, had some decent backstory for Clara and Jenna-Louise Coleman was charming. All the singing and speeches did go on a bit long at the end.

Next week: Game Of Thrones crossover?

I liked it too. It was just a nice, self contained short story. The fact that it looked lovely didn't hurt either. As I suspected from the trailer it had a bit of a Duney feel in places (mostly the costumes, but the mysticism too).

I thought it could've ended just fine when the Doctor gave his memories. While the giving of the leaf was poetic and all, it was a bit much. Felt a little overcooked.

My other complaints would be that everyone could breath in space and at the end they didn't seem to address what would happen to the city without a sun anymore. Yeah I know I can come up with my own explanations but it seems like the kind of thing Clara would've asked as well.

Anyway, nice bit of silly escapism imo.

Also I just assumed there was an atmosphere bubble thing around the planet and the pyramid and the sun/God since they were all sitting there singing and you can't sing in space.

I liked it too. It was fun and I also enjoyed the mystery of the grandfather.

Now that was good. Probably the best show Mark Gatiss has written so far.

I really liked that they added an extra element to the Ice Warriors by having him leave his suit - especially since we never saw all of what he looked like. Also it was a good decision to have just one in it's own.

I also liked that it was on a Soviet sub instead of an American one - something which you wouldn't normally see on a mainstream show like this. Okay, yes, it would have been nice to have them have actual Russian accent but whatever.

David Warner was good because he's David Warner.

Also Jesus Christ Mark Gatiss, HADS? There's a pull from the past.
